Historia
On January 20, 2021, standing where only two weeks earlier police officers had battled with right-wing paramilitaries, Joe Biden took his oath of office. The American people were still sick with COVID-19, his economists were already warning him of an imminent financial crisis, and his party, the Democrats, had the barest of majorities in the Senate. Yet, faced with an unprecedented set of crises, Joe Biden decided he would not play defense. Instead, he set out to transform the nation.

Good review of recent history
Revisado: 09-23-23
If you are Maga republican you won’t like this book. However, I feel author is open about opinion of Biden and objectively highlights successes and failures of Biden administration. Particularly covers Afghanistan withdraw tragedy, behind the scene dealings with Joe Manchin to pass legislation, and the Ukraine war.

Historia
A lifelong acolyte of the natural world, Annie Proulx brings her witness and research to the subject of wetlands and the vitally important role they play in preserving the environment—by storing the carbon emissions that accelerate climate change. Fens, bogs, swamps, and marine estuaries are crucial to the earth’s survival, and in four illuminating parts, Proulx documents their systemic destruction in pursuit of profit. Proulx describes the fens of 16th-century England, Canada’s Hudson Bay lowlands, Russia’s Great Vasyugan Mire, and America’s Okeefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.

Non Scientific
Revisado: 08-10-23
Not as scientific as I hoped (I am an environmental science grad student though). Interesting for its references to wetlands in human history. Although certainly justified the beginning predominately consists of complaining about current environmental issues regarding wetlands.
