Great twist at the end

I did NOT see that end coming!
Overall, I fall in love with the characters more and more with each book in the series. I absolutely love the story, characters, and the author’s sense of humor.
I would love to be friends with a woman like Poppy. I understand and admire her quest of self.
Love this series!!!

Historia
Easter weekend on the Jersey Shore is hopping. Poppy's Bed and Breakfast is busier than ever, but she needs to leave things in the hopefully capable hands of Aunt Ginny - and paws of Figaro the black smoke Persian. She's selling her paleo muffins and keto cookies at the Health and Beauty Expo in Cape May's Convention Hall. Normally sharing a booth with the love of her life would be a treat, but she's recently discovered secrets that throw her new romance into chaos.

First of all, I could listen to this narrator all day long- and sometimes do just that.
I love the running storyline. The characters are very relatable. The story keeps a good sense of humor throughout, and I find myself unexpectedly laughing out loud multiple times throughout each book.
The whole-dun-it keeps me guessing and trying to connect the dots. LOVE this author and narrator.

Historia
Poppy thought her toughest challenge this winter would be sticking to her Paleo diet and filling all her orders for her gluten-free goodies, but now she has to choose between two suitors. She's not the only one with boyfriend drama. Aunt Ginny's long-ago high-school beau, Royce Hanson, a retired Broadway actor, has returned to Cape May, New Jersey, to star in a Senior Center staging of Mamma Mia. Slated to open February 13th, the problem-plagued production seems to be cursed - with stolen props, sabotage, and even a death threat.

Fun; relatable characters , good story
Revisado: 07-25-24
This was my 2nd listen in the series. I find Poppy to be so relatable and enjoy the characters very much. I have found myself laughing out loud on a handful of occasions with each book. These stories definitely hold my attention throughout, and I have enjoyed the first 2 cliffhangers.

Historia
It’s almost Halloween, and the small island of Charm, North Carolina, is decked out for the festivities. When Everly Swan agrees to close her iced tea shop early to help her aunts host their annual haunted historic walking tour, she expects some good-natured spooks. But the night turns grave when one of the ghostly actors is found dead. To complicate matters, the victim scratched Everly’s name into the ground before she died, making her a key suspect.

Interesting mystery

I love this narrator. The story moved along very well. The we main characters were consistent to previous books, with the additions for the new plot. I’m not one for the supernatural, but it was minimal and didn’t turn me off. There was an exciting ending. Overall enjoyed this very much.
I’ll definitely continue with the series.

Historia
While Robbie scrambles through breakfast orders for her expanding clientele at Pans 'N Pancakes, tempers run as high as the sticky August heat in South Lick, Indiana. Real estate developer Fiona Closs plans to build a towering luxury resort at one of the most scenic hilltops in Brown County, and not everyone can see the sunny side of the imposing proposition - including Robbie's furious Aunt Adele, who doesn't waste a minute concocting protests and road blockades. When a vocal protester is silenced forever at the resort site, Robbie ditches the griddle to catch the killer.

I have enjoyed these books overall. I sometimes have trouble keeping up with who’s who as far as characters that pop in. I appreciate that it doesn’t get wrapped around and lost in a love interest.

Historia
Life is looking rosy for Florrie Fox, manager of the Color Me Read bookstore in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. The bookstore's weekly coloring club is a source of friendship and entertainment, and no member is more vibrant than Dolly Cavanaugh. When Dolly's love of garage sales results in her showing up at Color Me Read with a rare book in hand, Florrie is astounded. The Florist was first published in 1760, and an original copy would be worth a fortune. That same evening, Florrie finds Dolly dead on the floor of her apartment, a corner of a coloring book page clutched in her hand.

Enjoyable listen
Revisado: 06-17-23
I really like this narrator. The story was interesting. Character descriptions/histories were sufficient )and didn’t bore me to tears like some do).
I appreciated that, while the author included a love interest for the main female character, they chose to leave out the sap and focus on solving the mystery(ies).

Historia
Newly widowed and stuck in a middle-aged funk, Poppy has been running on cookies, infomercials, and one-sided chats with her cat for months. There's no way on earth she's attending her 25-year class reunion - especially after receiving a very bizarre letter from Barbie, the popular cheerleader who taunted her all through high school. At least, not until Poppy's best friend practically drags her to the event.... Using the dreaded homecoming as an excuse to visit her eccentric Aunt Ginny, Poppy vows to leave Cape May with pride and Spanx intact. Too bad Barbie is still the queen of mean.

Fantastic story and narrator
Revisado: 05-11-23
I first decided to listen because I could relate to the main character. The story moved along quickly (without any drawn-out character history, thank goodness!).
I laughed out loud many times throughout the story. Love the sense of humor the author has as well as the delivery by the narrator. The main character and her aunt’s personalities were so relatable and believable.

Revisado: 04-27-22
Having had 14 years with my own corgi, I SO appreciate ALL of the similarities between Watson and my Sammy. That’s the hook for me.
However, I enjoy the narrator as well as the stories from this author. It kept my interest, gave me some chuckles, some suspenseful moments - and I had NO idea as to the culprit.

Colorful and enjoyable
Revisado: 04-05-21
Agnes has quite a large personality. I found myself reacting aloud in disbelief/surprise a number times to her unfiltered comments and mannerisms. Her character was quite entertaining, and I felt like I knew her. The book moved along at a good pace. The characters were interesting and colorful yet not overdone. I enjoyed seeing her self-understanding evolve in bits according to her experiences - I was really rooting for her. Looking forward to the next in the series. I really loved the narration!
