Historia
In the years immediately after the Civil War, tens of thousands of former slaves deposited millions of dollars into the Freedman's Bank. African Americans envisioned this new bank as a launching pad for economic growth and self-determination. But only nine years after it opened, their trust was betrayed and the Freedman's Bank collapsed. Fully informed by new archival findings, historian Justene Hill Edwards unearths a major turning point in American history in this comprehensive account of the Freedman's Bank and its depositors

Very Boring
Revisado: 01-22-25
The text is terribly repetitive. The author seemed like they must emphasize the least important details. The narrator however had a pleasant voice, so there's that. Pity she had to stick to the text.

Got a biography with a great deal of self back slapping about "leadership". Honestly didn't even finish the first chapter.
So why the one star rating? There's no " I was mislead" rating.

Historia
This is Bill Hicks' portrait of life on the beach after the “big one” drops California into the Pacific Ocean. This extended version is a raw and uncut show that comprised the original Arizona Bay. Now fully-restored, much longer, and without music, hear Arizona Bay like an audience did when it was first recorded and revel in Bill’s genius once more.

When did a wacko ranting his odd-ball, obscene opinions become referred to as comedy? In this case, it's just misery.

Historia
Philosophy begins with questions about the nature of reality and how we should live. These were the concerns of Socrates, who spent his days in the ancient Athenian marketplace asking awkward questions, disconcerting the people he met by showing them how little they genuinely understood. This engaging book introduces the great thinkers in Western philosophy and explores their most compelling ideas about the world and how best to live in it.

Sorry, but the narrator's voice is so gay, I simply can't listen to this. I only listened for a minute.

Historia
On a cold winter morning, Jeff Power was lighting a fire in his remote Arizona cabin when he heard a noise, grabbed his rifle, and walked out the front door. Someone in the dark shouted, “Throw up your hands!” Shots rang out from inside and outside the cabin, and when it was all over, Jeff’s sons, Tom and John, emerged to find the sheriff and his two deputies dead and their father mortally wounded. Arizona’s Deadliest Gunfight describes an impoverished family that wanted nothing to do with modern civilization.
