Historia
Preet Bharara has spent much of his life examining our legal system, pushing to make it better, and prosecuting those looking to subvert it. Bharara believes in our system and knows it must be protected, but to do so, he argues, we must also acknowledge and allow for flaws both in our justice system and in human nature. Bharara uses the many illustrative anecdotes and case histories from his storied, formidable career - the successes as well as the failures - to shed light on the realities of the legal system and the consequences of taking action.

Not as expected...but an inspiring, smooth read.

The more I learn about Preet through his podcast, media appearances, and time as former AG of SDNY the greater my respect and admiration of him grows. He is a class act...a person of true integrity and wisdom. This book is an easy read and full of stories and experiences that shape his views of the justice system. He has a way of explaining complex legal issues with ease that is digestible and thought-provoking. I appreciate his voice, especially in the current climate. He makes me proud to be an American.
Also, join his Insider podcast - it's 100% worth the small cost.

Say what you want about Mr. Comey, but I would find it incredibly difficult to question his integrity after reading this entire book. He is a man of honor and lawfulness who devoted nearly all of his professional life to serving his country...and without a doubt he can leave that service with his head held high. But my favorite parts of the book were the more personal ones - the ones who tell his story about being a vulnerable, bullied kid...a man who loves his wife and family unconditionally...and a man who has experienced great pain and loss, yet continued to live fully and with absolute honor.

Exhaustingly Self-Serving
Revisado: 04-15-18
Ugh. I REALLY wanted to be into this book...but dang, it’s exhausting to listen someone make a case over and over for how great and successful they are...all while trying to drop a few life-advice nuggets for the reader (all of which you could get from a 20 min scan of “motivational quotes” on Pinterest). Rachel REALLY wants you to know how fantastic and accomplished she is....wait, did you actually grasp how much she has achieved? Don’t worry...she’ll tell you a hundred different ways in this book. Plus, there is SO much God/Faith/“I’m a good Christian” mumbo jumbo that it just comes off dis-genuine, preachy and un-relatable. This former preacher’s daughter really wants to sell you herself...and some heavy handed Christian values, y’all!
