Insta-lust and an annoying FMC
Revisado: 03-07-24
This was a lot more insta-lust/love than what I wanted or was expecting. I also didn't really enjoy Ada. I sympathized with her whole it's hard to make friends as an adult thing because that is really true, especially as a single female, but I hated her self-sabotaging and how wishy washy she was with her relationship with Wes. I loved Wes though. I really loved the depression rep, but it was definitely more told than shown. I wished it would have been explored a little more.

Shane East was amazing, the story wasn’t
Revisado: 01-15-24
This just didn’t do it for me. Sloan came off as desperate and way too thirsty to the point that it made me not even want to root for them to get together. I just didn’t understand the relationship between her and Walker other than their mutual lust and attraction. That’s fine to start out with, but over 60% into the book there still weren’t any genuine feelings on either side. Then when it finally did happen it seemed like it came out of the blue. Overall, not my favorite, but I am intrigued by Aria and North’s book.
P.S. Even though I didn’t enjoy the story, I 100% did enjoy listening to Shane East’s Scottish accent.

Historia
Vera Gallagher is chasing constant. For four years, her life was anything but normal. And the years before that she refuses to even remember. Dwelling on the past only hurts. Life is fragile, a lesson her mother taught her well. She’s determined not to waste a moment of her newfound freedom. Maybe some would consider her crush on Mateo Eden wasted time. Maybe some would call her a fool for loving a man who hasn’t once dropped a crumb of interest her way. Still, to Vera, it’s Mateo or nothing.

Good end to the series
Revisado: 12-07-23
I loved this series, and this was a good way to close it out. My only complaint is that we didn't get Matteo's POV at the beginning of the book. I would've liked to read firsthand about him finding out about his daughter and flying to Alaska to get her instead of him just telling Vera about it later. I thought he and Vera worked very well together though, and the little snippets of all the other Edens were perfect.

Better than Icebreaker
Revisado: 12-06-23
I liked this more than the first book. I was surprised that I liked the summer camp setting as much as I did. This was pretty low angst, low drama just like the first book, but I liked that this one had a little more character development and personal growth for the main characters. Plus, I think I just liked Russ and Aurora more than Nate and Stassi. Can't wait for Henry's book though.

Historia
A prince on a white horse swooping in to save the day... Isn't that every girl's dream? Maybe for some, but I've never expected to find my own happily ever after. I've made one bad dating choice after another, and it doesn't help that my only example of marriage is my dad leaving my mother before I was even born. I'll never be a believer in fairy tales. So, imagine my surprise when I meet Zac Ledger at my sister's wedding. He is the total opposite of my usual type: gorgeous, confident, and genuine. He's also athletic, and I am so not.

cute, single dad romance
Revisado: 11-28-23
This was a cute single dad romance, but I just couldn't connect with Autumn. I loved how she was with Ivy, but her insecurities when it came to Zac just got a little repetitive and annoying. I wasn't a fan of the female narrator. She would pause at strange intervals, and I didn't like how she voiced some of the male characters. Overall, not bad but not my favorite.

Historia
Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

Unoriginal but still entertaining
Revisado: 11-18-23
3.5 stars
With the amount of fantasy books out there it’s hard to find one that is truly original, but this was a little too unoriginal. It was so tropey and so similar to Hunger Games. That being said, I was still entertained and thought it was a good start to the series. I wish there had been a little more world building. I didn’t really understand the point of the trials. What were they supposed to be fighting for other than to just say they won? Hopefully, things will be fleshed out a little more in the next book. The ending was the best part of the whole book, and even though it wasn’t perfect, I’ll definitely be continuing on with the series.
Audio was great, especially the male narrator.

Historia
I’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love - I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar. Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s 27, the boss’ daughter, and my new part-time nanny - which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her. What kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?

Cute single dad romance
Revisado: 12-09-22
Age gap romance between a hot single dad who falls for his kid's nanny, who just so happens to also be his boss's daughter.
Mack has a lot of hidden insecurities. He blames himself for a lot of things that aren't really his fault. He is trying to make sure his kids know they are his #1 priority, and he doesn't think he can balance that and be the man Franny deserves. There's just nothing better than a hot single dad that is completely wrapped around his kids' fingers.
Overall, just a cute, sweet read.

Good story / bad female narrator
Revisado: 10-19-22
I think I would've rated this higher if I hadn't listened to the audio version, but the female narrator just completely threw me off. She was so monotoned and just had no emotion to her voice at all. One of the best things about audiobooks, especially first person POV is that it's more like someone talking to you and telling you story. This just felt like someone reading straight off the paper with hardly any inflection. I was so excited that this series was coming to audio, but I will definitely be physically reading the rest of the books. This wasn't a bad story at all. Pretty typical mafia romance. Adelaide Forrest's male MC's are always super over the top possessive and even controlling which I happen to like in mafia romances, so I loved Matteo. I didn't like Ivory as much. I found her to be a little annoying, but again, that could have more to do with the narrator than the actual character.

Action packed, funny and great banter
Revisado: 06-10-22
I am loving this series. This one has a little more action than the first book, which I really enjoyed. Plus, things heated up between Alexis and Kieren. The whole "I'm going to push you away for your own protection" thing is pretty predictable and slightly annoying, but it doesn't last very long so easily forgiven. I love the banter between all of the characters, and Bria is hilarious.

Some people are ordained for greatness. Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by. But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down. He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy all he holds dear. He thinks I’m the key to his salvation, and he wants me to help him claim vengeance. He also wants me with a passion.

Great start to the series
Revisado: 06-09-22
I really enjoyed this. There were some things that are pretty typical. The "I have no idea how powerful I really am and no idea who my father is," thing is a common trope in PNR, but it didn't bother me. I love that Alexis is strong willed and knows how to take care of herself and the kids without being a completely unrealistic Mary Sue. It's a slow burn, but the chemistry/attraction/tension between her and Kieren is definitely there. There is also the perfect balance of humor and mystery to keep everything interesting. I'm excited to learn more about the magic and politics of this world. The only gripe I have is that I wish there was a male and female narrator instead of just female, but I did enjoy her narration. Overall, really good, and I will continue the series.
