Historia
Deep under the City of Glass in the frozen Southern land, an age-old machine called the Heart of the City radiates a power that locals call icefire. Most citizens are immune to it, but a few, always born with physical disabilities, can bend it to their will. For 50 years, the ruling Eagle Knights, who fly on the back of giant birds, have killed these Imperfects, fearing the return of the old royal family, who used icefire to cut out people's hearts, turning them into ghostly servitors. The old king's grandson Tandor only sees the good things icefire brought.

Savage
Revisado: 06-23-19
I'm in love with fantasy, especially when it is an eric one. Fire & Ice isn't an exception, even though some scenes are difficult to accept (but, who did say life is easy, hug?).
If you're willing to go through the dirty and savage world, this is your pick.
Narration? Awesome! I can only imagine how tough it was to narrate all this stuff, but Edward Mittelstedt did his job very well.

Kevin Taylor is an Internet-famous handyman on a mission: Find a house and renovate it in 30 days. By flipping a derelict house in a month's time and chronicling the entire thing on video for his online subscribers, he seeks to become a star. The problems that plague this property will require more than elbow grease to fix, however. Shadows throughout the home are distorted, and an enigmatic trespasser keeps showing up in his footage. Worse still are the hideous voices that issue from otherwise empty rooms in the dead of night.

Let your hair down - it's just a house!
Revisado: 06-10-18
I'm into the horror genre, and like watching, playing, reading it in any kind. I like a high-quality horror that makes my blood cold and goosebumps every night.
But not this one.
Long story short, in the book, there is a good idea, the good motivational reason WHY the main character does it all, but it takes so long trip that at the end I totally forgot why, where, who... It was boring. Completely boring book. I was waiting for anything all the time.
And what about the narration?
That was great! Performance is good, Joe Hempel did his job well, everything was clear and nice. I wish there were a little bit more emotional moments, but this only my taste.

I was a just normal guy until the night the cherry blossoms bloomed, the night that Grace appeared on my doorstep. A failed sci-fi writer, a gamer, but a normal guy nonetheless. Grace was everything I was not - a psychic shifter, beautiful beyond my wildest imagination, a government conspiracy waiting to be unraveled. And that was before the second superpowered woman showed up to kill us both.

The Mediocre Story With An Epic Narration
Revisado: 05-07-18
I'm not fond of such stories as this one. Well, I'm okay with any paranormal, romance, sex, dirty language, but this one made me cry just because it lost the reasons. You know, it could be really a good plot way to describe something or help the MC to take a decision through the conversations with his friend, but exactly in this book something was wrong, smth was totally absent. All the events were happening just because of... what? I even didn't understand why (stupid me, yeah).
So, what exactly was wrong?
- the motivation. All the characters don't have any true motivation. You know this "fun for fun".
- the logic. As a part of the motivation.
- the surrounding. And here are we again and the characters who live in their own little perfect world. Hey, guys! There are people out there! You can't just pass through them and even don't get it on your mind! What's wrong with you?
- why the hell these girls ever have escaped?!
- and, frankly speaking, why they haven't found somebody better than this one pretty-writer-guy?
But! This book is still well enough to be read fast and with a pleasure. It's funny.
What was really good is a narration. Guys and girls did their job incredibly good! I wonder how did they make it together? Actually, I think this tandem can rock any book when they work together.
There is no any regrets about this book. So, no matter what grab it and listen to it!

Years ago, a young girl ran away from her childhood home and vowed never to go back. It was a place of fear, pain, and misery at the hands of an abusive father. But now, her father is dead, and she is forced to break that vow and return home - to lay his body to rest and face up to the ghosts of her past. However, Danni is about to learn that some ghosts are more real than others. Something beyond her understanding waits for her there, lurking in the shadows.

A good new horror book
Revisado: 03-10-18
Family – father Jon, mother Danni, daughter Leah, son Alex – came to the old Danni’s house to bury her father. In the house, they were waited by some dark, cruel creature. This thing didn’t waste its time and started to terrorize them as soon as they arrived. In two days their lovely family was ruined to the ground.
I was bored for some time. We have a long start before the action started, but then all became in a high-speed movie. I can’t say that the plot is gripping, maybe because I’m so spoiled by many horror movies, but I like pictures that Lee has drawn in this book: pictures of the dead people, that thing, brave but scared children, lonely little town.
Characters are banal. Well, for such a book it’s totally okay, but don’t expect something unusual. They look like the typical family from any The Amityville Horror movie series. Nothing special.
About the environment, I lost it. Even though this book is based on a true story, it feels empty and lonely. Like if the whole surrounding world vanished and nothing left. In our focus only this poor family.
I don’t have too much to tell about this book. It was well enough; I was listening to it during the work time, sometimes it was, as I said, dull, sometimes it was very interesting. Until the very end, I was sure about the rating and my review, but the end changed my opinion about the book. In the end, everything happened so quickly, and there were plenty of unexpected moments. I satisfied.
The Demonic is one of the good new horror books for adults to read. At least, it worth listening time.
Hannibal Hills is a narrator of this book. I like how he managed to create a voice of a dark creature very much. That was chilling! The narration is clear, no problem with separating the characters. Good work!

It was great!
Revisado: 03-04-18
I got one of the wonderful new litrpg audiobooks and happy about it. It was great!
***** Everything below may contain SPOILERS *****
A Dungeon Lord book grips and holds attention from the first page till the very end.
In the beginning, we manage to get acquainted with Edward Wright, one man in group players in Ivalis-online. Next day after the attack and finishing the dungeon Lord Edward has problems on his work, half of them he does by himself. His life turns upside down, and then he receives an offer to become a new dungeon lord. Well… why not?
He doesn’t know the rules. He doesn’t have any support except his bard and witch. He doesn’t have any clues what’s going on and in what the hell he was dropped. These aren’t much to start such an adventure, but he does, and he manages to do it well.
I like how all this happened. Even though this is a litrpg book, I forgot about it during listening. It looks like 100% fantasy novel. Magic and magic abilities, spells, dark creatures, inquisitions, corruption and many other things that are just so perfect in here! Only when Ed was activating his Eye and check talents, spells, and experience points, I remembered what book do I listen. The plot is gripping, fast-moving, with twists and unexpected scenes. Sometimes the POV changes, and it adds more driving to the story. The most valuable thing is everything happens in a logical way.
Edward is a good leader regardless he doesn’t have enough experience in it. He learns to trust and changes in the person whom can other trust as well. What I like about him is a brave temper. He surrounds himself with different kind of characters, knowing their basic strength and weak sides. And here I want to mention that the author made it up very well and done a great job to connect his characters in a beautiful working team.
Even though this is a dark fantasy, I had a very light and clear vision of surrounding world. It has its beauty in fields and cities, and the more important our heroes don’t walk somewhere far away from this living worlds.
This is a good book full of funny and interesting moments, strong characters, and twists. I want to know more and move forward this story, and for me, this is a signal that I really like the book.
Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott are narrators of Dungeon Lord book.
Amazing work! It sounds like music to my ears. Beautiful voices, very clear pronunciation (that’s important for me), emotional reading. They made this story alive. I didn’t have any difficulties with recognizing whose characters is have been read at the moment. Spiders, girls, female characters, Ed’s thoughts and author’s text, everything was so clear! Thanks for such a glorious work!

Now, in Season Two, he's got something to say. Kill me with a floating city? You got my attention. But then steal from me and try to burn me alive? You got me thinking. I think I'm going to find your yigging, walking carcass and introduce it to two friends of mine: pain and vengeance.

Revisado: 02-06-18
So, we have met again. A man with no name and me in a horrible world of creatures and cruel people, on the one hand, who just want to survive, and, on the other hand, who want to steal, and grab, and kill.
Season two opens more doors and pops up more about our little hero. He still travels and survives, and he, as always, sees his goal brightly and finds as many troubles as it's possible for one unusual man. I'm very happy with getting to know more about him. The death. The pain. The powerful things outside the understanding. Who he is and why did he become him. And after finishing the book I definitely want to know if he gets the wizard's throat.
The story is going on, so, don't waste time and just start reading!
I also want to tell that the narration by Justin Thomas James is awesome! He made the main character alive and emotional, and the story was very clear. I'm looking forward to hearing the season 3. And you?

Just any warlock. Oh no, I'm a warlock for hire. Need magical assistance? I'm your guy. Whatever you need: spells, cures, or potions - I can provide. For a price. My life gets a tad more difficult when one particular customer comes knocking. Enter Ashley Sheridan. She's sexy, mysterious, and in a whole lot of trouble. I should have turned her away, but I just can't resist a good mystery. So I poked my nose where it doesn't belong and landed myself in trouble with a malignant seer. I have to do as he says or people are going to die. I'm not really known for cooperation, so I'll just have to find a way to kill him, before he kills the people I care about.

He can do everything. For a charge.
Revisado: 12-10-17
Eddie isn’t just some warlock. As you already know, he’s a warlock for hire. Simple offers and an easy job don’t scare him. And then some sexy trouble enters his life. Or, better to say, he intrudes into her life. All good things, all his goals, and even moves are already known by someone else. So, what you’ll do in such a case: drop it off and run or try to save lives?
And here we have a cool story by Sean Stone. This isn’t about boring running in circles and trying to save every single person in a world. Eddie is self-confident, he is a real man, and no one, even one of the most powerful man, can turn him into a chicken. Eddie steps into the dangerous game.
What makes this book worth spending time on it?
1 – All set in our time and world. So, this is for urban fantasy lovers. Like City of Bones? Don’t miss this one!
2 – Nice characters. Not that they are pretty. Oh, no… They are rude, have plenty of unexpected sides, problems and abilities. But they are alive and to say the truth I can’t imagine somebody sweet in this setting. Everybody right on their places. Communications and conversations are perfect!
3 – Eddie. He can be irritative, cynical, silly, but he’s a real man. He promised – he has done. He is the center of the story and exactly through him the story was made so cool.
4 – Storyline. All this magic stuff was so accurate integrated into a surrounding world that if it had happened you wouldn’t have noticed anything. During the quest, Eddie meets different people, visits different places, and still, he’s in the real world that doesn’t disappear just because of some warlock. The story takes us at the edge. It has a high dynamic, everything happens quickly and there's no time to sit and solve some clues. It also plays some nerve when getting more acquainted with heroes. Here Sherlock Holmes (with Robert Downey Jr.) and The Dresden Files meet.
5 – Narrated by: Han Hills. This man made an excellent work! Due to his narration, this story is marvelous.
Don't take it close to the heart. Eddie is a warlock. And he's selfish.

Just... stay alive!
Revisado: 11-29-17
This book is compared to such great things like Mad Max, Diehard, and Stephen King's Gunslinger, and even Harry Potter and The Lord of The Rings. With some things, I agree, with some things not.
What's this book about? About an alone man who lost his memory, time and equipment. He woke up in unknowing place. So, he just goes with knowing where to move, seeks for food and possibility to recall anything from that period that he has lost, and kills everything on his path. Through him, we are acquainting with a post-apocalyptic world where everything died, and what's didn't die that became monsters and tries to eat something. Carns, ghouls, lichs, witches, wizards (I hope wrote them right) - any kind of monsters are here. Everything except "common human".
During his journey he recalls some fragments from his past, finds allies and weapon.
Does it sound boring to you? If yes, keep reading, because this book DEFINITELY deserves attention. Why, you may wonder?
Because the whole story is written very well. Because the main character is alive. No, I don't mean that he's alive because he walks-speaks-kills other creatures and so bearded pretty guy with this deep-and-sensitive world inside. He's a MAN. Travelling with him through the ruined world you can't miss this man. He reminds me The Witcher from the beginning, the story with Adda. He has his doubts, but also he knows what's right. He is ready to accept something different from black-and-white, but he kills anything that tries bit him without any hesitation. He has his principles: to stay alive and make a revenge. While you're with him in that gloomy world you'll yell with him: wotta yig is going on?!
Here we can compare this book with Mad Max because of the really mad world outside. Diehard and Gunslinger? Well, why not?
If you're waiting for an exciting journey in the dark world filled with cruel creatures and dark secrets, and fast dynamic, and continuous stress, then it's a good choice for you. Unexpected Journey!
A special word goes to Justin James. His work amazing! Beautiful deep voice and emotional narration made this book even more exciting.

A drop in the ocean... but made of steel
Revisado: 11-12-17
This is a great short story full of dynamic which gives us the main knowledge of what is going on and whom our hero fights against, - or the system he’s in fights against, - and drowns us in an atmosphere that is unalienable part of the all following books.
The Ninth Circle is a prequel to two main storylines.
Who did say demons don’t exist? They are here integrated and dangerous and Arthur knows how to fight against them. If it sounds familiar as Supernatural, The Exorcist, and hundreds of other things don’t turn away! This book bribes you not by detail descriptions how integrations go on or by opening horrible plans to seize the world, no. It takes you by your soul and make you care about everything in this world, drowns you in through Arthur’s pain and feelings. Lincoln Cole knows how to underline the main character and how to show he suffers using more terrifying things. And you get it all in a high dynamic book like a game cinematic with very good humor in situations.
I want to say a good word about narration by Stephanie Dillard. All is clear, beautiful and emotionally full! Her voice doesn’t make you bored, and you are in with Stephanie for the very last word of the book.

Corruption is everyone
Revisado: 09-09-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Listening of this book was well-spent time. Kate Rudd made her job very well! I like her voice and her emotions, especially in the last chapter. I was chill by her reading in that moment. But the book as itself is very dull. A lot of conversations which are just waste of time. A lot of information that is going to argue with the world setting. Maybe this is not important at all and authors just needed to add more text, I don't know. I wish it could have more actions, really important actions which are pushing the plot forward and making people reading without stops.Logic. Where is the logic, guys? In this book, all the magic becomes from corrupt which is growing from deepest places of humanity. Even if they can create anything it goes from first corruption position. Very bad idea.
Has Restriction turned you off from other books in this genre?
Absolutely no. Even more - I won't read or listen books from this series.
Which character – as performed by Kate Rudd – was your favorite?
As performed by Kate Rudd I liked Zeke. She made him wise, strong, impatient sometimes, an old man who knows how to turn things out right.
Did Restriction inspire you to do anything?
No.
Any additional comments?
I think it is a bad book with a corruption of thoughts.
