Historia
After multiple women go missing, Agent Melina Shepard of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation makes the impulsive decision to go undercover as a prostitute. While working the street, she narrowly avoids becoming a serial killer’s latest victim; as much as it pains her to admit, she needs backup. Enter lone wolf FBI agent Jerrod Ramsey. Stonewalled by a lack of leads, he and Melina investigate a scene where a little girl has been found abandoned in a crashed vehicle.

A little too much to keep up with.
Revisado: 07-14-20
I normally enjoy Ms. Burton's books, but this one, I didn't enjoy as much. The story line itself was great, but the constant going back and forth between two serial killers' point of view was very confusing and hard to keep up with. The narration wasn't the best either. The narrator would pause in the middle of a sentence for a second or two which was very annoying.

Wow!

The story itself was great. It was slow at first and I almost lost interest, but I'm so glad I kept on listening. What really set the story over the top for me was the narrator. His voice was amazing and his southern accent was just plain perfect.

A mess.
Revisado: 04-03-20
I'm trying to get through this book, I really am, but it's so hard to keep up with the storyline. The plot itself is great, but the constant back and forth between before the kidnapping and after the kidnapping is confusing enough, and then to top it off with the constant flashbacks of the detective is beyond impossible. I have to rewind constantly because it's hard to keep up with who is doing what. I hope the next book is written better.

Historia
Summertime in Bleak Harbor means tourists, overpriced restaurants, and the Dragonfly Festival. One day before the much-awaited and equally chaotic celebration, Danny Peters, the youngest member of the family that founded the town five generations ago, disappears. When Danny’s mother, Carey, and stepfather, Pete, receive a photo of their brilliant, autistic, and socially withdrawn son tied to a chair, they fear the worst. But there’s also more to the story. Someone is sending them ominous texts and emails filled with information no one else should have.

Not so great
Revisado: 03-24-20
The plotline was great, but the way the police handled the situation was ridiculous. It ruined the whole story. When a child is kidnapped, you take the phone, laptop, etc immediately. You don't wait for the parents to bring it in the next day. You don't run around leaving the parents of the kid to run around by themselves also. Just no.
