Historia
With magic declassified in the UK, the fake psychics and fraudulent healers are running amok, and it's up to the Department of Extradimensional Affairs' newly appointed Skepticism Officers to crack down. But when they set their sights on Modern Miracle, a highly suspicious and fast-growing faith healing cult with remarkably good social media presence, even their skepticism is put to the test.

Not Yahtzee's best
Revisado: 09-24-24
Was decent. Had a couple good plot lines, for example how do people view traditional religions now that magic is out in the open. I enjoyed the returning characters, but the new characters weren't doing it for me. Overall, book was ok. His other books are better, including the first book in this series.

Very Cyberpunk!
- De Tyler Houston en 08-10-23
Good performace, confusing story
Revisado: 09-10-24
First off, Cherami does a great job reading the book, specifically enjoyed her performance as the DJ/Podcast host guy. Tons of energy! And as a guy who prefers female V in the game, having her do that book was a nice treat.
The story, was pretty confusing. The story itself is fine, but the way its presented makes it hard to follow. The perspective changes constantly between like 8 characters, without any breaks between lines or clear notation of who's perspective its switching too. Then it does flash backs without any warning. And the ending was a real mess, I had no idea what was going on. Looked up a redit thread to explain it and now I mostly get it.
TLDR listen to this if you are itching for more Cyberpunk, otherwise its mid do to how the story is told.

Historia
Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

Makes me want to be a better man
Revisado: 08-14-24
Started following Tim earlier this year, and he has been a huge inspiration for me. I had heard most of the stories depicted in this book from podcasts he has been a guest on. Even so, these stories cut deep with the extra detail given in the book. I am not ashamed to say I cried a few times listening to this book, especially when the old man hugged him. Tim is an incredible human and makes me want to be better every single day.
He chose to write this book in first person current tense, and I think that was a great decision. It really brought me to the time and place of each of his stories. He writing style is really good, words and thoughts flow well. And he did a fantastic job being the reader. If he chose to start reading novels, I'd listen to them.
Great book, a must read/listen. Thank you Tim for all the inspiration you have given me.

Scott Brick Saved this book
Revisado: 08-05-24
TLDR: MEH.
This book answered almost NO questions I had after playing Halo Infinite. The story overall was uninteresting. There was 1 part I was interested in, and its when a Spartan and Brute were trapped together. I didn't care about any of the characters. If it wasn't for Scott Brick being the reader, I would have dropped this book. Don't bother with it. Go listen to Envoy or Outcasts, those were amazing.

Historia
Molly Patel was only seven years old when the alien alliance known as the Covenant destroyed her homeworld and killed her family. As one of the few to escape the glassing of Paris IV, and despite the United Nations Space Command winning the war on behalf of humanity, Molly never forgot how much she had lost. Nine years later, when her adoptive parents - research scientists specializing in ancient Forerunner technology - are called to the mysterious and wondrous place known as Onyx, Molly vehemently objects.

Great atmosphere!
Revisado: 07-08-24
The story itself of this book is ok. What I loved about this book is the atmosphere/setting/world building! A bunch of different races are living in one place together, with humans, I know they have done that in other books, where the location is more of a hub for mercs and vagabonds. But this is a first time where "civilized" people of each race are living together, and it was really interesting! The grunt character was my favorite!
Scott Brick making Halo Great Again as always!

August 2558. Rion Forge was once defined by her relentless quest for hope amidst the refuse and wreckage of a post-Covenant War galaxy — years spent searching for family as much as fortune. But that was before Rion and the crew of her salvager ship Ace of Spades encountered a powerful yet tragic being who forever altered their lives.

Guilty Spark reading his own book!
Revisado: 07-08-24
Story was decent, the real treat here is Timothy Dadabo being the reader! He plays Guilty Spark in the games, and having him be the reader of this book was a fantastic idea! Props to whoever got that to happen! And surprisingly, he has a great range in his voice, his natural tone is quite deep which surprised me.
Its an ok book, that is greatly elevated by the performance!

Find. Claim. Profit. In a postwar galaxy littered with scrap, it's the salvager's motto. And with a fast ship and a lust for adventure, Rion Forge has certainly made her mark on the trade. When the discovery of a wrecked UNSC cruiser brings Rion's past back to haunt her, stirring fresh hope into a decades-old wound, she's hell-bent on finding answers: What really happened to her father and his ship, the Spirit of Fire?

Historia
Stripped of armor, might, and memory, the legendary Forerunner warrior known as the Didact was torn from the physical world following his destructive confrontation with the Master Chief and sent reeling into the mysterious depths of a seemingly endless desert wasteland. This once powerful and terrifying figure is now a shadow of his former self—gaunt, broken, desiccated, and alone. But this wasteland is not as barren as it seems. A blue light glints from a thin spire in the far distance.

Revisado: 04-01-24
I really liked the Didact in Halo 4, but I've struggled to be interested in his story in the books. I liked this one more than the Greg Bear books, but it still wasn't really doing it for me unfortunately.
Reader was ok, I really prefer Scott Brick for Halo books though.
