I found most of this book interesting. While the issues within the fashion industry were familiar, some of the specific stories were new to me. I was sorely disappointed, though, that the final chapters, rather than providing any actionable steps that individuals can take to minimize their personal impact on these issues by making better choices in their own clothing, delved into an idealized, post-revolutionary, Marxist dreamworld in which all of the problems of the industry are magically solved.

Overall Anneliese Rennie's narration was clear and enjoyable.

The information provided in this lecture series is good, extensive, and accessible. It is clear, however, that Professor Anding, while essentially listen-able, is not a wordsmith. Mis-placed modifiers are just one (repeated) example of what she says being very different from what she means ("All fats are not evil" instead of "Not all fats are evil," for instance).

Even with having to make mental corrections to get to her true meaning, and being distracted by some repeated mis-pronunciations ("vulnerable" should have two "L's," for example, and she uses this word a LOT), I learned a lot from this series. I think anyone who already has an interest and basic grounding in nutrition (such that they can figure out the mis-spoken bits), will find this course beneficial.

Even though you know, within the first few minutes of listening, exactly where this story is going to go, it is an enjoyable, quick listen. My only criticism of the story is that it may be too quick; you're pretty sure you know what's going to happen, but aren't given a chance to relish the development of the relationship as things proceed so quickly.

Carly Robins provides a smooth, enjoyable listen. I especially love what she has done to distinguish all those elf voices -- that could not have been easy! There were a couple of passages in which I found her breaths distracting; this was the first time I'd listened to a book on my phone, though, so this could have been due to a limitation of the phone's speakers, and I didn't notice it throughout the story.

Highly recommend for a light, short, not too smarmy holiday read. I recall nothing that would have made me blush for my grandma or daughter to hear, so I give it an A family-friendly grade.

I received this copy for free at my own request.

This title I purchased on a whim during one of Audible's "3 for 2" or such sales. I'm so glad I did!

As a reader, I really cared about the characters and could almost believe that the type of magic they experienced was real. -- OK, the tree was maybe a bit out there, but the rest of it . . . if magic is real, this is probably how it works. ;-) I appreciate all the work Sarah Addison Allen clearly put into researching herbal lore.

The narration by Susan Ericksen was wonderful. Even though it was written in third person, her inflection changed depending on whose POV we were hearing at the time. Characters were differentiated without becoming cartoonish, and were treated with sensitivity and care.

One mild production criticism: for scenes involving phone conversations, the "other end of the line" was sampled a bit. I found this distracting and a bit off-putting, and it pulled me out of the story I was enjoying so much.

Watch the movie first!!! This book assumes that you are familiar with the story of Buttercup and Westley, and would contain spoilers for those that do not know the story.

This was a wonderful look behind the scenes of a favorite movie. Made me want to see the movie again, and made me wish I was a film actor and could work with all of these kind, funny, lovely people.

This is the second book book in a row for which the narration got in the way of my finishing the book -- now that you know that about me, you will have an idea how to weigh my input.

The basic premise (as outlined in the twenty-two minutes that I listened to) is sound; we need to set goals ten times higher than what we think we want, and then put forth ten times the effort we think would be be necessary to reach those goals (sounds like the 100x + rule, doesn't it?) in order to succeed.

This narrators enthusiasm seems genuine, and I'm sure he is a great motivational speaker. I expect a more polished product in an audio book than in a live production, though. Cardone's continual mis-pronunciations (phenomenon ends in an "n," not an "m," just as one *repeated* example of many) and un-edited mis-reads (he'd flub, go back and correct it, and all was left in it's entirety -- where is the editing and QC?) kept pulling me away from the potentially good information. I just couldn't get through chapter one. Sorry.

The information in this book is definitely useful, and I do feel a small shift in my attitude toward my "stuff" after reading it, in addition to having clear questions to ask myself when sorting through, re-arranging, or discarding "stuff."

However, the book has several points at which you are instructed to pause and write down the answers to a long list of questions, or to make a list of items, feelings, or goals. This is not how I use audiobooks; I'm usually listening to them while *doing* another task, so the pausing and writing, for me, did not happen.

I'm always a little cautious when I hear that an author is narrating his or her own book, but Mellen's theater and public speaking background serves him well here.

Narrators can "make it or break it"

Most of these stories were fun. Most of the narrators were . . . okay; a couple of the narrators really interfered with my enjoyment of the story (when the inflection you chose for the beginning of the sentence doesn't work with the meaning when you get to the end of the sentence, you go back and re-record that sentence. Where were the producers and the QC folk?); a couple of the narrators were absolutely FANTASTIC.

The real problem is that nowhere can I find the details of what narrator belonged to what story. I would happily look up, purchase, and listen to more work by the first and penultimate narrators, but I have no idea who they were!

(as an aside, I do wish that when narrators are given a novella that is part of a larger series they were also given some notes as to what the fans know of the characters from other works. Bob should *not* have sounded like a redneck tough; that is all.)

Any additional comments?

I found the Personal Experience Effect to by highly useful and relevant to my life right now. It is a reminder that how we comport ourselves in *each* aspect of our lives carries over into all others. Brand yourself, and be consistent within that brand; let people know what to expect from you. Joseph does a good job of explaining the whys and hows of personal branding, and provides pertinent celebrity examples to illustrate each step or phase. He explains well, without unnecessary repetition.

Jay Prichard's narration was even, clear, and very well paced. I will definitely be looking into his other work.

(a copy of the audio book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review)
