Great story and the experience of pregnancy. The supernatural elements didn't go far enough in my mind but was still very enjoyable book. Great performance. I recommend this one!

A lifetime original movie. truly.

Ill listen to anything Julia Whelan reads.

This one was a bit of a clunker. It really feels like something from Lifetime or Oxygen. Our heroine Olivia is some kind of perfect woman worthy of worship from all the men around her. She is struggling with her fertility, but besides that she is kind of unlikable I think.
This story is so predictable and overdramatic. I LOL'd at the description of the hunky twins that Olivia is wrapped up with. The book had one tone, and then those parts were so cheesy describing Parker and the other brother, and then the son Peyton yikes.

And then the mom ends up with the sperm donor father...its all too much.

Anti- climactic dud

Ill listen to anything Julia Whelan narrates. This story started out strong, I was into it. But then it dragged and the resolution was lame. Where was the big plot twist? Bodie never really helped solve anything, was there any point in her reinvestigating the case at her old school. It was all sort of pointless.

I was surprised at the sensitivity and nuance given to Carrie in this book. From my memory of the film, Carrie is treated as a freak and monster- with some dated drama mixed in. King's prologue was fascinating recalling the inspiration for the main character, its a must listen and really gave me context for the story (heartbreaking really) I thought I knew this story but the book is far superior to the movie. Sissy Spacek's narration is perfection.

truly heartbreaking

This reminded of the memoir Educated. I can't believe that a parent can abuse their children in this way. I was not familiar with Jeannette- I never watched her show or even knew who she was. He strength is impressive- I was hooked on her story quickly, her honesty and conflicted feelings about her mom. Its a great listen.

I enjoyed "Local Woman Missing" another book by Mary Kubica so I thought I'd try this one. I found the narration annoying and the story predictable. Would have liked to hear from Mia the main character instead of her hysterical mother Eve who was a boring dud in my opinion!

My first time reading Mary Kubica, and I enjoyed this book. The story kept me guessing- some plot twists I didn't expect. I enjoy the multiple narrators/ voices. I found Meredith's performance a bit grating and whiney but all in all I recommend this.

Not very many red lights, or even yellow

I adore McConaughey and his charm, wit. He's a wonderful storyteller, and I really enjoyed hearing his adventures. And I did really like the concept of "greenlights", opportunities that present and you just GO! However his struggles, or red or yellow lights, seemed rather minimal. He appeared to have few set backs, disappointments or failures. He enjoyed a great deal of smooth sailing and self discovery with the safety net of good looks and wealth. Still, I enjoyed this memoir and his delivery! He's an actor with a wonderful voice, and a great writer too. Definitely worth a listen but not so many strategies to catch more greenlights of your own...

this is a book more about grief, isolation & marriage. from reading the description i was expecting a supernatural story and was bored. maybe reading the book might be preferable, I became lost in the narration of the different characters, who the couples are etc. I couldnt follow it.
