Historia
Decades after Richard Ramirez left 13 dead and paralyzed the city of Los Angeles, his name is still synonymous with fear, torture, and sadistic murder. Philip Carlo's classic The Night Stalker, based on years of meticulous research and extensive interviews with Ramirez, revealed the killer and his horrifying crimes to be even more chilling than anyone could have imagined. The story of Ramirez is a bizarre and spellbinding descent into the very heart of human evil.

Excellent, well-detailed book
Revisado: 08-19-23
This is one of the most detailed true crime books I’ve read. The author was so thorough covering Ramierez’s childhood, every crime in detail, and the intricacies of the trial. While the gruesome details are disturbing and difficult to hear, the story is so well told that you’re completely drawn in, wondering how someone could be so evil. The narration is very well done with good pacing.
The only part that I felt was unnecessary was the epilogue that was written 10 years after the release. It was mostly graphic descriptions of the sexual fan mail Ramirez received in prison from disturbed women.

Historia
When Monisha Rajesh announced plans to circumnavigate the globe in 80 train journeys, she was met with wide-eyed disbelief. But it wasn’t long before she was carefully plotting a route that would cover 45,000 miles - almost twice the circumference of the earth - coasting along the world’s most remarkable railways; from the cloud-skimming heights of Tibet’s Qinghai railway to silk-sheeted splendour on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Packing up her rucksack - and her fiancé, Jem, Monisha embarks on an unforgettable adventure.

An enchanting tale
Revisado: 02-11-22
This was an unusual, delightful travel memoir. The aspect of train travel made it so much more unique than typical memoirs. This book was about the journey, not the destination. It made me want to ride the rails and meet the amazing people Monisha and her fiancé met. It was beautifully written, and the author was a fantastic narrator. The love of her adventure came through in her voice. Highly, highly recommend.

Historia
Lloyd Camp takes you on an evocative journey through some of the wildest places in Africa as he relives colorful vignettes from his adventurous childhood and long career as a safari guide. This is a charming, funny, thoughtful, and often hair-raising series of short stories that illustrate Lloyd's enthusiastic delight in leading his clients into the wilderness areas of Africa. Forthright yet lighthearted, Lloyd's suspenseful narrative emphasizes both his love of the African bush and the courage and resilience of the Africans that he encounters in his odysseys.

Great Stories, Terrible Audio Quality
Revisado: 10-18-21
I really enjoyed the first 2/3 of the book. Lloyd’s safari adventures were delightful. They were exciting, humorous, and well written. It got me excited for my upcoming safari trip to Kenya.
Unfortunately, the last third went into stories about him running a marathon, time in boot camp, and saving a friend from drowning. They were interesting, but very disjointed from the rest of the book.
Lloyd was a great reader, but the audio quality was atrocious. It had echoes, was muddled, and occasionally mic booms.
