Good stories
Revisado: 01-29-24
Stories were good. However , chapters don’t need titles…. Especially when they don’t mesh with story or chapter.

Scene changes annoying
Revisado: 03-11-23
The performance was well done, but the music in between chapters/scenes was unneeded, unnecessary and annoying.

Male reader has droning voice
Revisado: 02-04-23
The story was really great, thankfully or I would have stopped listening as soon as male reader began. Voice had a feeling of being yelled out, and extremely hard to differentiate between characters - they all sounded the same.

Travelers Rest
Revisado: 01-11-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Fans of Steven King might enjoy this
What could Keith Lee Morris have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
This really could have been edited down. It seemed to go on and on and on. It almost feels like the characters themselves that the author got pulled into the circular story and couldn't get out of it. The book had the feel of the movie 1408 but less interesting. Lots and lots of self reflection to the point of boredom. I was really hoping this would get scary but it never did. I do think the author is talented but this effort left me disappointed.
What about Peter Berkrot’s performance did you like?
Without Peter's performance, I don't think I could have gotten through this. Great with giving characters their own voice. Well done.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I wanted to love this book and it started well but too quickly got into endless pages of self reflection. I was hoping this would be in the vein of the Shining but it never got there.

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

One Second After I regretted buying this book
Revisado: 01-11-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
War Buffs
What was most disappointing about William R. Forstchen’s story?
The idea of the story is interesting. The writing of this book is really poor. The dialogue is non believable and almost laughable. The characters do not act like people would in an emergency situation. In an early scene when the main character realizes that something bad has happened, he goes to the local gas station/food mart and stocks up on not food or water for the kids but cigarettes then lectures the owner on not taking money since it will be worthless in the new world order then proceeds to the pay the owner in you guessed it- cash. I have no idea how this could possibly be a best seller. This book is boring and feels like it was written by a high school student.
Would you be willing to try another one of Joe Barrett’s performances?
No.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from One Second After?
I would like to know who edited this book in the first place. Yikes.
Any additional comments?
I'm beginning to wonder if I read the same book by the people who gave this book four stars.
