Not my cup of tea..

the story had an interesting premise but as it went on it became tedious. I went into this story with a lot of hope that it would be an interesting coming-of-age story of some sort with some action, but it became something very different. as the story progresses he became less and less probable. I eventually got to the point to where I didn't even want to finish the book. this was even after the character had gotten back to Earth, and saw what had happened there.

Nathan Lowell's stories I've always been some of my favorite. His character, Captain Ishmael Wang, is one of the more interesting and well-developed characters out there in space fiction. this particular book is a story of tragedy and triumph. if you enjoy stories of seemingly ordinary people rising to the occasion and succeeding in spite of all obstacles this is the story for you. the characters are well-written well-developed and completely believable. it was well worth the time and the money.

Another great read from Nathan Lowell

The whole series has been excellent. The characters, especially the main character, Ishmael, has proven to be very engaging and well thought out and believable. Seeing him grow from a young man with few prospects to a successful Captain has been interesting and fun. The whole host of situations he has faced as he has progressed through his life are well written and believable. He faces his own fears and some flaws realistically and honestly which add depth to the story. I am looking forward to the next installment.
