Historia
Founded two centuries ago by a powerful tribe of Gottwa Indians, Rowan was a quiet town, so quiet that I fled after graduation. Staying away was the plan, but Mom died suddenly. Dad said she suffered a stroke after she dug up one of the ancient graves in our backyard, which happens to be the town cemetery. Creepy, I know. Creepier still, there was no corpse inside the old coffin, only fresh rose petals. As we made preparations for Mom's burial, new people began arriving in Rowan, unnervingly handsome and odd people.

Rose Petal Graves is amazing
Revisado: 11-15-20
From the first chapter the book pulls you in. The characters are so real that their raw emotions can be connected with. There are times I cried right along with the protagonist. Every time you think you have the characters and intentions pegged, they show a different side to them. I love the book and will be starting the next as soon as I get done with this review. The author has a rare gift of bringing her characters so fully to life that you can believe they are real people, and get lost in their story.

Historia
Paige has no interest in being a demon’s plaything. She shouldn’t even be in the Fallen City of Elisium, but all it takes is one Nephilim jerk proclaiming her to be tainted and that’s exactly where she winds up. The demons she encounters there are vile, wicked beings, though none more so than Kincaid: The cruelest and most powerful of them all. To ensure her safe return home, Paige must strike a bargain with him. Forty days in exchange for her freedom.

Kiss of the Damned
Revisado: 10-08-20
I really enjoyed Kiss of the Damned by Elena Lawson. It was a different spin on angels and demons to me. The main protagonist feels like a real person, and makes you genuinely interested in what is going on with her. In fact I was talking to her on what not to do in my head throughout the book. I the only downside to the audiobook is the narrator has a soft, slow way of speaking. Even the adrenaline inducing scenes is spoken soft and slow. It needed some stronger emotions in those scenes to convey the urgency going on. Other than that, it was great, and I’m ready to read or listen to the next book in the series.
