Truly, Magically, Heartbreakingly Mesmerizing
Revisado: 01-26-24
I was not a regular listener of Mr. Albom’s books. I should be, and will be. My wife has all of his works, and, yes, I do mean “ALL.”
I have vision problems and therefore I can only listen.
She literally begged and bargained with me to read, “The Five People You Meet In Heaven.”
She has given me a new type of literature to read (I have already purchased all of Mr. Albom’s audiobooks).
I also now have a clear vision of what I wish Heaven to be.
In Magic Strings, I found myself reevaluating my own life, trying to figure out what, if anything, I have contributed to the world. I’m not famous, rich, overly religious or political.
I can only wish that through the wonderful family that I’ve raised and have (five children, 14 grandchildren, and one great grandchild), the friendships that I’ve made, that the values I hold dear will have positive influence on the course of at least one person’s life, and perhaps even the path of nations.
What more can you ask of a book, than to have it make you want to be a better person?
Thank, you Mitch Albom, and thank you, Frankie Presto!

And in that terrible darkness, a dreadful plague will be released. If the lights go off, nothing can stop the bioweapon from killing millions. At the same time, the intelligence services are being torn apart from within by a plague of betrayal, murder, and suicide.

Consistently thrilling
Revisado: 12-09-23
Just like all of his other books, Kill Switch, always throwing, always keeping your attention, and making you wonder what’s coming next.
There is enough realism, imagination, and science fiction to keep it interesting.
One thing that frustrates me through all of these books is the interchangeability of the Roz “OOO-RAH’s (Mari

Love the entire series, BUT…..
Revisado: 11-13-23
I’ve written reviews on almost every book in this series, and I still have only one serious criticism…
As a former Marine, I still must loudly protest against the very idea that another former Marine (Bunny) would ever, even in a moment of uncontrollable rage or passion, let me word HOO-AH, pass through those Marine Corps Lips!!!
ANY MARINE, under any circumstance, even for the sake of solidarity or uniformity, would refrain from saying that!
MARINES ONLY, EVER SAY, “OO-RAH!!’
It hurts my heart that Mr. Mayberry would continue such a SACRILEGE in book after book.

Follow up, nice to know
Revisado: 10-14-23
As usual, Mr. Mayberry is writing, and Mr. porters narration are an excellent combination.
Most books do have a certain element of unbelievability. As an idealist, and an optimist, I do love to see stories that show, extreme, patriotism, and extreme dedication to maintaining peoples rights, and a general order of right and wrong.
As a former Marine, there’s only one thing there bothers me somewhat; the character “bunny“ also being a former Marine, continues to say “Hoo-ah,” which is something that the army says when enthusiastically agreeing with something. Marines say, “Ooh-Rah.”
I know this sounds like a trivial matter, but it is something that just seems to bang the back of my mind has completely wrong.
I wish there were some way that I could contact Mr. Mayberry and express my concern to him, but there are so many of the books read already. I know it will never make a difference.
Still, I enjoy the books, and will continue reading all the Joe Ledger series.

An enjoyable excursion
Revisado: 09-28-23
This little change of pace is so fun to read, and so scary because it portrays an attitude that I know actually does exist in our country’s leaders and upper staff.
Since the first days of our Country’s existence, the military personnel have been used to find out the limits of Man’s endurance, and the capabilities of our technology and equipment.
I, myself, was used in a couple of small “experiments.” Fortunately, the effects on my body were limited to degradation of my sight and hearing, ; I’ve always been grateful that my losses were not complete.
Looking back, I do see the same attitudes reflected in this short story. I left the Marine Corps after nine years, without ever any official confirmation of the experiments, any thanks, or compensation.
I still celebrate my love for Corps and Country, I have never spoken with anyone about the experiments, or the effects on me. In my heart, I always remember that any organization, no matter how good, that is run by People, can and will, at some point, be led by someone who has these same ideas of ‘no limits’ on the the “ownership” of it’s personnel.
I pray, but I still know.

Gets better with each new book
Revisado: 09-20-23
There are still some things that a good military advisor should have caught and corrected. But as I’m still in the beginning of the series, I will give the benefit of doubt. This one is better than the first, so I will assume that more will be caught in the next, also on.
As a former Marine, it is my nature to be detail oriented. And this series, being Brother Seals, is definitely getting me full attention.
The storyline is rich and exciting,?and I’m eager to begin the next adventure.

I Liked it!!
Revisado: 08-11-23
Sure, there are parts that get a little cheesy, and some unbelievable fighting heroics. Uh you ever watched and enjoyed any of the DC or Marvel comics movies, you’ve seen a lot more.
The Blake Briar stories are entertaining and enjoyable, and the narration is excellent.
So, I think I’ll continue reading the series!

In retreat from a devastating loss and crushing injustice, Katie lives alone in a fortresslike stone house on Jacob’s Ladder island. Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility. And now two agents have arrived on Jacob’s Ladder in search of someone—or something—they refuse to identify. Although an air of menace hangs over these men, an infinitely greater threat has arrived, one so strange even the island animals are in a state of high alarm.

End Of The Story??
Revisado: 06-01-23
Very well written, as always is the case for Dean Koontz.
And as always, it’s good enough that I hate to see it end. I want to know more about what happened to these lovely ladies. And also about Michael J.
Perhaps, someday, Mr. Coates will write a sequel.
And I will be watching for it.

Historia
Before he was the Gray Man, Court Gentry was Sierra Six, the junior member of a CIA action team. In their first mission, they took out a terrorist leader, at a terrible price. Years have passed. The Gray Man is on a simple mission when he sees a ghost: the long-dead terrorist, but he's remarkably energetic for a dead man. A decade of time hasn't changed the Gray Man. He isn't one to leave a job unfinished or a blood debt unpaid.
