Historia
Nita doesn't murder supernatural beings and sell their body parts on the internet - her mother does that. Nita just dissects the bodies after they've been "acquired". Until her mom brings home a live specimen and Nita decides she wants out; dissecting a scared teenage boy is a step too far. But when she decides to save her mother's victim, she ends up sold in his place - because Nita herself isn't exactly "human". She has the ability to alter her biology, a talent that is priceless on the black market.

Captivating story and storytelling!
Revisado: 03-28-20
I really enjoyed the story! The pacing was excellent, the characters flawed and realistic, and the twist I honestly didn’t see coming!
The storyteller was very good at emoting and doing multiple character’s voices!
10/10 will listen to again!

Historia
With ribald humor, wit, and incredible insight, Alan seamlessly moves back and forth in time, integrating stories from his childhood in Scotland and his experiences today as the celebrated actor of film, television, and stage. At times suspenseful, at times deeply moving, but always incredibly brave and honest, Not My Father's Son is a powerful story of embracing the best aspects of the past and triumphantly pushing the darkness aside.

Heartbreaking yet Important
Revisado: 06-25-16
A wonderful look into how generations of trauma can be overcome by learning about and moving on from it. Alan Cumming's narration of his own words are heartbreaking and at times raw.
While I enjoyed learning more about one of my favorite artists, this story may not be for everyone. Those sensitive to abuse may find it disturbing to hear Alan's story.
But I would recommend it to everyone else even if you're unfamiliar with Alan Cumming's work!

They all thought he was gone. But he was alive and trapped inside his own body for ten years. In January 1988 Martin Pistorius, aged 12, fell inexplicably sick. First, he lost his voice and stopped eating. Then he slept constantly and shunned human contact. Doctors were mystified. Within 18 months, he was mute and wheelchair-bound. Martin's parents were told an unknown degenerative disease left him with the mind of a baby and less than two years to live.

Mind blowing!
Revisado: 09-28-15
This was a fascinating and often heartbreaking look into another person's world. Very personal and touching. I could not stop listening to this book! I was so moved by it I went and bought a paperback copy for a friend who loved it as well. It's beautifully motivating and extremely well written!

Historia
A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper and resonated in unimaginable ways. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

Neil Gaiman does it again!
Revisado: 03-28-15
Exceptional storytelling, vivid imagery, and wonderfully read by the author himself! I loved every moment and was irritated when interrupted! If you love Neil Gaiman's previous works, you will love this one as well! I will definitely be purchasing a paper copy as well!
