How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Historia
More than 30 years ago, nutrition researcher T. Colin Campbell and his team at Cornell University, in partnership with teams in China and England, embarked upon the most comprehensive study ever undertaken of the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease. What they found, when combined with findings in Campbell's laboratory, opened their eyes to the dangers of a diet high in animal protein and the unparalleled health benefits of a whole foods, plant-based diet.

Revisado: 04-06-17
This is one of the most comprehensive book on nutrition and health I have read/listen to. This book breaks down the complex relationship between what you eat and how you feel and the external forces that shape our beliefs and understandings of food choices.

Historia
There is no simple strategic method for dealing with the multidimensional nature of digital change. Even the sharpest leaders can become disoriented as change builds on change, leaving almost nothing certain. Yet to stand still is to fail. Enterprises and leaders must remaster themselves to succeed. Leaders must identify the key macro forces then lead their organizations at three distinct levels: industry, enterprise, and self. By doing this they can not only survive but clean up.

I really liked the format of this book. I read Liz's other book, Multipliers and loved it so I thought I'd try this one. I'm so glad I did.
There are so many great ideas and stories I had to make a list to be sure I wouldn't forget any. Now all I have to do is forget all I know and focus on what it don't.

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.

The power of Why
Revisado: 05-14-15
This book does an excellent job illustrating the importance of knowing your reason for being in business. The author's knowledge and his experience are put to great use as he weaves facts and stories into competing manifesto of WHY.
As I listen to the first couple of chapters I began to wonder if the book was really something that I would be able to identify with but, as I got further into the book I could stop listening. So glad I stuck with it, this is one of my favorite books in the past 5 years.

Historia
The employer-employee relationship is broken, and managers face a seemingly impossible dilemma: the old model of guaranteed long-term employment no longer works in a business environment defined by continuous change, but neither does a system in which every employee acts like a free agent. The solution? Stop thinking of employees as either family or free agents. Think of them instead as allies.
