Historia
Ever since she stumbled into the quaint village of Tillyhenge and discovered the enchanted chocolate shop run by her grandmother, Caitlyn Le Fey has been dreaming of finding her long-lost mother and finally unwrapping the mystery of her past. But meeting Tara isn't the sweet reunion she'd hoped for: not only is her mother far from the gentle, maternal figure Caitlyn had imagined, she's also the prime suspect in a murder that's left the village in a stir. The locals are wary and suspicious of her, and even Lord James Fitzroy is turning a cold shoulder, in spite of his feelings for Caitlyn.

Enchanting and Fitting Conclusion to Series
Revisado: 11-22-24
A Fondant Farewell is an enchanting and fitting conclusion to the Bewitched by Chocolate series by H.Y. Hanna. The series revolves around Caitlyn Le Fey who lives in an attic room in her grandmothers chocolate shop in the Cotswolds village of Tillyhenge.
Throughout the series, Caitlin, who was adopted, is searching for answers about her birth mother and father as well as what happened between her grandmother and mother when she was an infant. It was nice to see her finally get closure. This book includes some fun and frivolity surrounding the Samhain festival.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story narrated by the impeccable Pearl Hewitt. She narrates with such enthusiasm that it’s impossible not to become totally engrossed in the story. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys lighthearted cozy mysteries with a bit of magic. You should start at the beginning of the series to ensure you know the characters and what is going on throughout.

Book 8 in Enchanting Cozy Mystery Series
Revisado: 11-21-24
A Witch Worth Praline For is an enchanting cozy mystery in the Bewitched by Chocolate series by H.Y. Hanna. The series revolves around Caitlyn Le Fey who lives in an attic room in her grandmothers chocolate shop in the Cotswolds village of Tillyhenge.
As with the other books in the series, Caitlyn soon stumbles over a dead body at her beaux’s estate and the death has a few suspicious circumstances that might lend themselves to the supernatural, including a ripped page out of her grandmother’s book of spells. Caitlyn can’t help but get involved in piecing together clues of who might have done it.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story narrated by the impeccable Pearl Hewitt. She narrates with such enthusiasm that it’s impossible not to become totally engaged in the story. This is the 8th book in the series and the first of two concluding the series. I can’t wait to listen to the final book to know who committed the murder! I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys lighthearted cozy mysteries.

Revisado: 11-06-23
Destiny's Star is a fantastically written epic story set during a time when magic is part of the ruling class. Writer Elizabeth Vaughan intertwines action, adventure, and romance in a new story with characters began in the Warprize saga. It was extremely nice visiting with old friends again! I cannot wait for more stories of those living in the Plains.
Susan Ericksen narrated this audiobook, who was simply fantastic! I highly recommend this audiobook!

Entertaining Epic Fantasy
Revisado: 01-17-22
This is a very enjoyable epic fantasy set in the same universe as the "Warprize" trilogy, but in a different part of the world. It was entertaining with action, adventure, and a bit of magic! The heroine of the story, Red Gloves, is a free spirit who is strong, independent, and unafraid of confrontation. And she reminded me a lot of Xena Warrior Princess, but with more romance thrown into the storytelling.
Susan Ericksen narrated this audiobook and the Warprize trilogy. She was simply amazing, clearly differentiating between male and female voices and exhibiting varying emotions with aplomb. Brava!

Country Garden Cozy Mystery
Revisado: 01-17-22
Doom and Bloom is another fun and lighthearted cozy mystery in the English Cottage Garden Mystery series by H. Y. Hanna. The series follows a down on her luck 20-something Poppy Lancaster after she inherits her estranged grandmother’s dilapidated cottage garden nursery. Having no experience with a plants, let alone an old-fashioned English Garden, it’s enjoyable listening to Poppy’s attempts to restore the nursery to its former glory. Along the way Poppy stumbles across a murder and helps to solve it. Pearl Hewitt is an amazing vocal artist and she is one reason this series so enjoyable!

Enjoyable retelling of Rumpelstilkin
Revisado: 01-17-22
Final Rating - 3.5 stars.
Promises of Gold is fairytale retelling of Rumpelstilkin with a twist by Serena Clarke. I really enjoy listening to fairytale audiobooks and enjoyed this just as much, with the narration by Kimi Weldon. The story takes place in a kingdom where magic is outlawed and those with magical abilities are tortoured and their families murdered. However, when the king hears about a girl who can spin straw into gold, the king imprisons her and uses her to fill his royal coffers. The problem is, Emmalene cannot spin straw into gold. In comes one of the king's guards, Red, who is an illusionist and can make the straw appear as if it were gold. The rest of the story is about Emmalene and Red falling in love and how they eventually escape from the clutches of the evil king.
