Three years ago, Morgan saved Lexie from a serial killer, who is now behind bars. But this time, she’s failed to protect her. Certain a new and more terrifying killer is at large, Morgan finds a neighbor who claims a man in a silver car was watching Lexie’s house.

Historia
World War II at Sea offers a global perspective, focusing on the major engagements and personalities and revealing both their scale and their interconnection: the U-boat attack on Scapa Flow and the Battle of the Atlantic; the "miracle" evacuation from Dunkirk and the pitched battles for control of Norway fjords; Mussolini's Regia Marina - at the start of the war the fourth-largest navy in the world - and the dominance of the Kidö Butai and Japanese naval power in the Pacific; Pearl Harbor then Midway; and much more.

Great story, awful narration
Revisado: 02-24-23
I listen primarily to books on history. Within that category what I enjoy most are books on military history during the 20th century. Sadly with this book the flat, emotionless, almost monotone narration took a great story and made it painfully boring. Rather than getting immersed in the rich history of the titanic naval clashes in WW II, I found myself wondering when it would be over. After 14 hours I could go no further. In the hands of another narrator (Grover Gardner, Ray Porter…) this would have excellent.

Historia
During the third week of February 1944, the combined Allied air forces based in Britain and Italy launched their first round-the-clock bomber offensive against Germany. Their goal: to smash the main factories and production centers of the Luftwaffe while also drawing German planes into an aerial battle of attrition to neutralize the Luftwaffe as a fighting force prior to the cross-channel invasion, planned for a few months later. Officially called Operation ARGUMENT, this aerial offensive quickly became known as “Big Week,” and it was one of the turning-points of World War II.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 02-08-23
Excellent account of the critical role played by both Allied and German air forces that often doesn’t get the attention it deserves. From the overall strategic aims to the ongoing development of the equipment to the personal stories of the individuals involved, the Big Week hits on all levels. What was particularly impactful were the personal stories of the pilots involved and the gut wrenching decisions, sacrifices, and stresses they had to face at very young ages.
Finally, I can’t say enough about Grover Gardner’s narration. In my humble opinion he is outstanding. His presentation and pronunciation are clear, but more importantly his inflection and pacing are excellent and convey the feelings of the characters. In short he’s a storyteller, not a narrator.

Historia
The discovery of a young student floating face down in Lake Windermere, her naked skin almost translucent in the freezing water, looks like yet another tragic teen suicide. But the victim’s lack of clothes make forensic pathologist Beth Adams investigate further. Anything to distract her from the arrival of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s body on the mortuary table that morning. With witnesses keeping tight-lipped and any clues washed away by the tides, it’s up to Beth to find the evidence her team needs. But then another girl is found in the lake, this time still clinging to life.

Ridiculous narration
Revisado: 02-03-22
I've listened to other stories with the same narrator and I can always get past her stiff formal style. This time every single female voice sounds exactly the same, a sing song syrupy drunken voice. It's so bad it's insulting.

Historia
In a world where nothing supernatural exists, Tess Eckhart is positive she's going crazy. After her complete freak-out at a high school party, her family is too. So much that they pack their bags and move across the country, next to a nationally-renowned facility for the mentally ill. Tess is determined to fit in at her new school, despite the whispers and stares. But when it comes to Luka Williams, a reluctantly popular boy in her class, she's unused to a stare that intense.

Excellent series but way too much teenage angst.
Revisado: 08-17-16
BS on the idea of right wing propaganda. It's one or two lines in a three book series. If you are that far left then I can't imagine what kind of movie or book would be inoffensive. It's not a part of the story. The idea that it's anti GOD is also BS. I guess those reviewers didn't listen long enough to realize the story line disputes the idea of science over the spiritual. Don't let those reviews stop you from enjoying a great series. My only issue was the teen angst. Way over the top; the main character's boy related angst and her issues snowballing because she is too introverted to talk to anybody to clear up any misunderstanding gets old. Still a good story. Too bad the never been kissed age level was the target audience.
