Historia
Fear, the most powerful force in our life, is the least understood. Every one of us experiences it. Many arrange their lives to avoid it. Yet nearly every one of us needs to find more fear. Change your relationship with fear, and you will change your life, like thousands of people around the world have. Most of us know fear as the unwanted force that drives phobias, anxieties, unhappiness, and inhibits self-actualization. Ironically, fear is the underlying phenomenon that heightens awareness and optimizes physical performance, and can drive ambition, courage, and success.

Courage Comes Alive with 10 Great Guests
Revisado: 03-04-21
Sure, I'm biased, but after a full year of finding the perfect person to end each chapter, separating the absolute best 10-12 minutes from sometimes an hour long interview, and putting it into a world class production - this audiobook rocks!
The narrator:
I first met Lou at a conference in Martha's Vineyard and thought he had a great voice, and a very curious and courageous nature. He was the perfect choice to read this book. The sidebars were things that taught me a ton throughout life or things that I didn't know that I found really interesting, so I was excited to share those - plus another voice broke things up a bit.
The guests:
A reclusive billionaire, a major league baseball CEO, the first woman F-18 instructor pilot, the most brilliant mind in AI and brain imaging, the smartest neuroscientists at MIT, Amelia Earhart (really the one who made it all the way around), Silicon Valley's top CEO coach, an Emmy Award winning actor, the Head Psychologist at the Olympic Training Center for 15 years - the celebrities are amazing and they share their own stories in a very authentic way,.
The book:
#5 on the Wall Street Journal Best Seller list. 36 of the world's top neuroscientists and psychologist, all in plain English with practical steps to reprogram your life for courage and to deal well with uncertainty.
Turning adversity to advantage:
There are so many people who sent emails and messages about how the science in this book has helped them reprogram their mind and really change their lives for good - from getting on an airplane to starting a new business. Knowing how your brain works means you can willfully create the life you want. Give it a listen ,I know you'll learn much that you can use right now.

Historia
At last, one of the world’s greatest works of science fiction is available - just as author Stanislaw Lem intended it. To mark the 50th anniversary of the publication of Solaris, Audible, in cooperation with the Lem Estate, has commissioned a brand-new translation - complete for the first time, and the first ever directly from the original Polish to English. Beautifully narrated by Alessandro Juliani ( Battlestar Galactica), Lem’s provocative novel comes alive for a new generation.

Ultimate love story
Revisado: 03-02-21
Philosophically challenging but emotionally piercing in such a beautiful love story. The audible version is even better than the bool where Snow turns to Snout.

Childhood classic - just as good at 50
Revisado: 03-01-21
This was one of my favorite books that I probably read at 10 years old. I picked up this copy just for fun during the lockdown, and thoroughly enjoyed the courageous story of the young boy and his wonderful duo.

Historia
As always, Reacher has no particular place to go, and all the time in the world to get there. One morning he ends up in a town near Pleasantville, Tennessee. But there’s nothing pleasant about the place. In broad daylight Reacher spots a hapless soul walking into an ambush. “It was four against one” . . . so Reacher intervenes, with his own trademark brand of conflict resolution. The man he saves is Rusty Rutherford, an unassuming IT manager, recently fired after a cyberattack locked up the town’s data, records, information . . . and secrets.

Historia
Amos Decker's life changed forever - twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good and left him with an improbable side effect - he can never forget anything.

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Delightful pros
Revisado: 12-24-19
The secret to the success of this book is Westover‘s ability to describe an incredibly fucked up childhood with elegant and moving words.

"Correlation does not imply causation". This mantra has been invoked by scientists for decades and has led to a virtual prohibition on causal talk. But today, that taboo is dead. The causal revolution, sparked by Judea Pearl and his colleagues, has cut through a century of confusion and placed causality - the study of cause and effect - on a firm scientific basis.

Doesn't work as an Audio Book
Revisado: 05-03-19
This shouldn't have been published as an audio book, the entire text is slanted toward diagrams and illustrations. It's an interesting subject and work, it can only be presented in visual format however.

Love the New York accent
Revisado: 11-05-17
Great read of something that has decent probability of a real-world scenario. The main character is well developed, although a bit stereotypical, but plays well. It's a fun book and an easy one to get hooked on.

Let me decided if it works, stop telling me
Revisado: 11-05-17
I could only listen to the first few chapters. The idea is great and a helpful tool, but it got so tiring hearing "When I spoke at XX conference Julie came up to me afterwards and told me how it changed her life..."
Give us the tools, tell us how to use them and let us decide if it works. I like the premise, it was cool hearing her story but all the no-name life changing events that she inserted every 30 seconds kept me from listening to the entire book.

Historia
One evening in 1951, an itinerant storyteller arrives unannounced at a house in the Irish countryside. In exchange for a bed and a warm meal, he invites his hosts and their neighbors to join him by the wintry fireside and begins to tell formative stories of Ireland's history. Ronan, a nine-year-old boy, grows so entranced by the storytelling that, when the old man leaves abruptly under mysterious circumstances, the boy devotes himself to finding him again.
