Historia
Thirty-five years ago, when they were in their 20s, Niall Williams and Christine Breen made the impulsive decision to leave their lives in New York City and move to Christine’s ancestral home in the town of Kiltumper in rural Ireland. In the decades that followed, the pair dedicated themselves to writing, gardening and living a life that followed the rhythms of the earth.

The beauty of the garden
Revisado: 02-09-25
I love the writings of Niall Williams.
This book is part meditation, part prayer, like going to the of their garden.
In the November chapter, you questioned the value of what you're writing does. I am one voice who says it brings sweetness beyond measure to my world .
This book along with
This Is Happiness are two of my favorite books of all time. I shall tend to my garden (in the front yard) so that I might add more sweetness to the lives of passerby's.
And Niall and Chris, thank you.
You have given me inspiration to pass beauty on.
What else are we doing on the planet, truly ?

Historia
Peter is a Dublin lawyer in his thirties—successful, competent, and apparently unassailable. But in the wake of their father’s death, he’s medicating himself to sleep and struggling to manage his relationships with two very different women—his enduring first love, Sylvia, and Naomi, a college student for whom life is one long joke. Ivan is a twenty-two-year-old competitive chess player. He has always seen himself as socially awkward, a loner, the antithesis of his glib elder brother. Now, in the early weeks of his bereavement, Ivan meets Margaret.

Dear Friend
Revisado: 04-27-24
This book and the writing of Abraham Verghese is like being in the company of a dear friend. A friend that you do not wish to have to say good-bye to as you near the end of the book.
And because his writing is poetry in prose, it is portable in my heart. I have enjoyed no author more than Abraham Verghese in years.
Thank you for this beautifully written book.🙏

Everyone longs for a successful and fulfilling life. We can learn to clear the blocks and fears that are holding us in unhealthy patterns.

Loving well and living your true authentic self.
Revisado: 03-16-24
Maureen’s thoughts and insights warmed my heart and lifted my hope for better world in which we are led by love and making a positive difference in the world.
Her stories of external success which can be the accumulation of money, power, possessions do not equate to a successful life.
Maureen offered tools, insight and wisdom into a deeper more meaningful pursuit about what we are each doing on this planet.
Her narration of this book adds to a deep exploration of compassion and kindness. Her voice resonates with kindness.
I finished this book weeks ago.
I think of it each day in my personal life. How can I be living my best life, how can I love more deeply?
As a seasoned therapist I often share Maureen’s tools with my clients.
Bravo Maureen on your search for depth and meaning.
Your book is a success to me.🙏

Too much science that I could not follow and understand
Revisado: 03-19-22
I gave this work a four hour try but it gave me too much scientific detail and it just did not click for me.
I wish to know more and to do my part with climate change and ecology but this was too much detail that broke the book up too much to enjoy.
I really tried to follow some of the scientific details because I know they’re very important but it was too much detail.
I thinking the book should have a warning that you need science and botany background to appreciate.🙏
