another great SEP novel
Revisado: 07-04-21
Annabelle Granger is struggling to prove herself to her highly successful family. they always make her feel less than, and for me that was somethjng that made Annabellr human and relatable.
there is lots of interaction from familiar faces from other books and I loved that.
there was humor and tons if tender emotion too
now let's talk about Heath our malr character. he starts off as the stereotypical male that is driven and pretty emotionless. but quickly you delve beneath the surface and see that is not the case....He is complex and wonderfully written.
the story is a winner as all SEP stories are, the characters had depth and touched me and as always narration was great.
this narrator does a great job and is easy to listen to. and allows the story to flow nicely.

Historia
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune writes, "Next to Tracy and Hepburn, no one does romantic comedy better than Susan Elizabeth Phillips." For proof, you need to look no further than Nobody's Baby But Mine. This classic comic love story from perennial New York Times best seller Phillips unites a beautiful, brainy scientist desperate to be a mom with a brawny, smoking hot jock who, though handsome enough to father her child, is nowhere near as stupid as she wants her baby’s daddy to be.

so funny,a great addition to SEP"s Stars series
Revisado: 03-28-21
This book was so funny I laughed so much through it. Cal and Jane are two of my favorites because I can understand the feelings and notifications of them both. The desperation of Jane and Cal's anger over the deception. What really made me love Jane was despite her actions which are deplorable, she is not a bad person and that is made so clear in the development of her character. Now the same could be said of Cal. be is angry and he has reasons for his bad behavior but the development of his character shows he is really good person.
the story itself had a good pace and was written in a way that didn't leave a bunch if loose ends or questions so it does stand alone despite being part if a series.
This narrator is great. her voice is smooth, she has a good grasp if character voices and is easy to listen to. there are no heavy breaths or smacking noises that sometimes cone with narration. overall she is really good and an easy listen.

Great jerk with a whiny heroine and a lousy narrator
Revisado: 10-25-20
I really wanted to love this book because I love Native American historical and I even love Catherine Anderson but as far as likable characters went a Hunter was it.
Hunter was patient, understanding and forgiving when given no reason to be, granted he was also high handed, threatening in a way but only in the way of his people not in a general sense. What he threatened was more for safety and to save face and because that was the way of the Comanche than to be directly hurtful.
Loreta on the other hand whines about everything was hateful, mean spirited , extremely unforgiving biased but so was Hunter, extremely self absorbed and an all around brat that by the end I was wishing would die just so I wouldn’t have to hear her inane whining anymore. If you like a strong heroine this is not the book for you.
Swift Antelope band Amy who have a book of their own are a sweet slot in this book with their innocent love and fierce protection of each other. The way Amy protect Loreta is Amazing considering she is younger! I did love these two and look forward to their book.
There is a lot of rape, murder, talk about rape and violence but this is a period piece and no more so than was related to the time period. What bothered me more was the blatant racism. Perhaps again no more than what is normal for the time period but was so harsh band talked about so much especially by whiny Loreta I couldn’t help but wish she’d just go back home and be with a white man as a opposed to continuing to call hunter a dirty savage.
The narrator was awful. Not only was her voice annoying and the way she pronounced words odd, she took these giant gasps, smacked her lips constantly and took long pauses. I hated it also when she would be too quick to announce the next chapter almost as if she were speed reading. This was by far my least favorite narration.

Excellent story and narrator
Revisado: 10-16-20
I have only read a couple Catherine Anderson books but this one made me a fan. The story was written so we'll about characters developed so we'll you could not help but care about them. The subject matter waabjeavy but written about with such care, accuracy, and honesty. I loved the narrators style. I enjoyed that there were not a bunch of cheesy voices that sounded fake in her repotoiree. She kept a good pace and was easy to listen to.
I would recommend this book for sure and plan to listen to book two because this one was so very good.

As Always a great book from Rosanne Bittner
Revisado: 09-06-20
I loved this book. The story was Interesting and as always a lot great historical details in the book that keep the characters in period. The main characters were interesting and the subplots were interwoven enough to make them important and interesting. I would recommend any of Rosanne’s books because they are all that good. I wish there were more to listen to.
The performance was good. The reader had good use of voices without sounding odd or crazy lol. At times I wished for a little more energy in reading but. It enough to make me dislike her narration.

First celebrated for her voice, she became one of the most talked-about women in the world, whether for music and fashion, her relationship struggles, or as a walking blonde joke. But now, instead of being talked about, Jessica is doing the talking. Her audiobook shares the wisdom and inspirations she’s learned and shows the real woman behind all the pop-culture clichés. Open Book is an opportunity to laugh and cry with a close friend, one that will inspire you to live your best, most authentic life, now that she is finally living hers.

I wanted to like this book
Revisado: 06-06-20
I like Jessica Simpson wand was interested in hearing how she became a better person. Instead I hear a lot about name brands, parties and drinking. I saw a lot of materialism and little depth. Sure she sans for the troops, but there are starving children and all she wants to talk about are her Fendi bags and multiple trips to St Barts. Now yes I know she works hard for a good living and should have her luxuries but she wanted us to see beyond the “it’s not chicken” thing and I just didn’t. I saw shallow and a woman who likes the victim role so much she settles into it and takes on the issues of others as her own. As for appearance it is women like this size two nothings that go out and have plastic surgery that set impossible standards for the standard woman.
This is not a book I really got anything out of or enjoyed much.

Historia
His name is Royal, but he's no prince charming. He's not even a prince - though you could say I loved him once upon a time. He was my older brother's best friend. Growing up, he sat at our dinner table every Sunday, teased me mercilessly, and pretended I annoyed him. When I was old enough, he took me on my first date. Royal taught me how to drive. Escorted me to my junior prom. Gave me my first kiss...among other things. He was my first taste of toe-curling, all-consuming, can't-sleep love.

So good
Revisado: 02-01-17
I have never read Emma Chase before and I was enchanted from the Beginning. I loved this story and the performance by the readers. While not my typical genre, I bought this expecting something entirely different and was thrilled with my misconception. I enjoyed each and every word and cannot wait to actually feel the thrill of reading the book and seeing the delightful words on the page and creating the vision in my head enhanced only by the superb quality of the readers. Ms. Chase you have a new fan!
