Historia
There are three rules Brooke Sullivan must follow as a new nurse practitioner at a men’s maximum-security prison: 1) Treat all prisoners with respect. 2) Never reveal any personal information. 3) Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates. But none of the staff at the prison knows Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary’s most notorious and dangerous inmates.

the ending
Revisado: 10-11-24
it was alright. the main character was getting on my nerves. it was like watching a corny scary movie. it was good enough to keep me listening till the end. the twist at the end was the best part. if this has a part 2 I might listen to it to see where it goes.

Historia
You know who your competitors are. You keep tabs on them regularly, and can list them calmly, along with their strengths and weaknesses. But your enemies are a whole other matter. They’re the haters and the doubters who said you’d never make it, the ones who stomped on your dreams. When you think about your enemies, you get emotional. You feel like you won’t let anything—or anyone—stop you.

Author reading his own book & side stories only available here. Makes it more interesting & realistic
Revisado: 05-31-24
Patrick,
I appreciate you reading your own book. All very helpful & feels more personable. I'm an aircraft mechanic, & also enjoy doing most maintenance myself at home. I don't make much time to sit down and read a book. I have listened to hundreds of audio books. I take information better when I'm moving & doing things. I've been in my career for over 15 years & thinking about what I want to do after I cannot physically work on airplanes anymore. I do not plan on retiring, but rather, thinking about what I want to do next, ranging from starting a small farm, or opening a small aircraft maintenance facility. Not sure yet. This book helps me better plan for whichever direction I decide to go. I have also listened to your other book, Your Next Five Moves, & thoroughly enjoyed it. Both books are helpful, not only in thinking of my own personal moves but even helping others with their resumes, job search, & recruiting for my company. Thanks for all you do.

Nachos!
Revisado: 04-25-24
I'm too grown for this book. Maybe some brand new 18year olds would like it. The narrator sounds more appropriate for teenage vampire books or something. I expect romance/erotica books to be a little cheesy but this one is the most corny/cheesy I've ever heard. All this cheese & corn would've made some nice nachos!
It opened up aggressive. No relationship established. Though the characters knew each other when they were kids, the almost immediate jump to sex felt more like a cheesy porn movie. Also, the author writing about the girl having a crush or desire like around 12yrs old creeped me out. They went too deep into that for my comfort. I tolerated this book to half way through. Out of over 150 audio books I've fully enjoyed, this will be the first I will not complete. I would return it, but I guess a half way listen is fair.

Andy Adams (1859-1935) was born to pioneer parents in Indiana, worked in Texas for a decade driving cattle, and settled in Colorado Springs, where he penned his cowboy narratives. The Log of a Cowboy chronicles a five-month drive of three thousand head of cattle from Brownsville, Texas, to the Blackfoot Indian Reservation in Montana. This classical work of fiction provides fascinating insights of everyday life on the Great Western Cattle Trail with a team of 12 cowhands, a cook, a horse wrangler and a foreman.

Good book, not so good narrator
Revisado: 01-19-24
This is the first western I've listened to with no southern accent. It was difficult to listen to but the story is good. A good narrator could easily make this book 5 stars.

I was bored with this book. I quit listening at 1.5 hours left, so I tried at least. I think someone suggested it to me. Must've been a person I ended up not liking. HAHA! At least I listened to the book they suggested though!

Elegantly blaming society for depression & anxiety
Revisado: 01-23-21
I grew up broke. Single mom, government housing, food stamps, went to bed hungry often, high crime area, the whole nine. Yeah it sucks but I had more friends and connections in the hood than ever before. We didn't think anything of it, we just lived. Mom was stressed but who wouldn't be with 3 kids & no baby daddy around. This dude blames society & the government not doing enough but they did enough for us.
His research is good. My favorite was on the shrooms. Shrooms need to be legalized.
This book feels more like a push for socialism and using depression & anxiety to justify it. I didn't hear him bring up research on the benefits of regular old eating good, exercise, & going outside. He over complicated feeling like shit by insisting you go out and gripe & complain, and then asking others to change to fix your own feelings. This dude gave no answers to what you can go out and do today for free and on a daily basis.
Push-ups, sit-ups, walking, and running are free, a local park is free, and food stamps offers a good selection of food you can buy. Do this simple stuff on a daily & you will start to feel better.
All this is in the US of course, i don't know about other countries but if your listening to an audible, I doubt your next meal is much of a concern for you.

After almost a century of peaceful exploration and colonization of space, the United Earth Space Force stumbles across a shockingly xenophobic alien race that has more and better armed ships and refuses all attempts at contact. As the outgunned Space Force is driven back in battle after battle in what appears to be a war of extermination, one officer experiences precognitive visions that help him blunt the enemy onslaught, but he can't control or predict when they occur.

Boring
Revisado: 08-18-19
it was more strategic planning & numbers talking i really didn't care about. i was waiting for the story to continue throughout the book. it was like listening to military after action reports & details about the battles. a bunch of numbers & squadrons & a small bit of the story mixed in. it was slow to get to what was going on because the author went into details about the battle i had no care about. A few details & onto the story would've helped. I couldn't get a good view of who the characters are and could not immerse myself into the story.

Not bad
Revisado: 03-31-19
It was alright. Could've used some comedy. It was too serious. Funny stuff would've made it addicting but i bought the set & just wanted to get through it. I liked that it ended & didn't leave me hanging. Even if it did i would not have bought another book. It had too much gore & not enough funny. I like action, guns, & explosions but that's about all that kept me from returning it. The romantic parts were a good add, not too corny or raunchy but a good realistic add.
