Historia
History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

loved the different Scottish accents
Revisado: 04-18-25
I liked the descriptions of the Scottish countryside and the interplay of the fictional story with the authentic history. All the different Scottish and celtic/Gaelic accents were well done and fun to listen to (and interesting to try to try to interpret.

5 stars all the way through. Such a wonderful heart warming painful emotional story. Just a caution, there is one section in the middle of the book that may be too much for younger children.

I think this book was a really good book because it gives people of perspective of what it was like for the people who lived in Vietnam When The War started. and what it was like for most of the Southern Vietnam to move away from their home and learn a different language and go to a different school and learn a different language . Historia
Boisterous, ribald, and ultimately shattering, Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest has left an indelible mark on the literature of our time. Turning conventional notions of sanity and insanity on their heads, the novel tells the unforgettable story of a mental ward and its inhabitants, especially tyrannical Big Nurse Ratched and Randle Patrick McMurphy, the brawling, fun-loving new inmate who resolves to oppose her.

Brilliant story - wonderful performance
Revisado: 11-19-17
I'm so glad I read wonder. I think the story teaches us that people shouldn't get judged by how they look. Wonder is a book for kids who are scared of kids like August -- then they can see how the kid they are scared of feels. I was sad at first, but at the end I was happy. I wish I could talk to the author. I give both the story and the Audible performance 5 Stars. I will remember Wonder forever. It is soooooo good.
