Mysterious and Mystical
Revisado: 01-16-23
This was the best thing I've listened to in a long time. The people reading the book to you were phenomenal. Normally, non-linear time lines throw me for a loop and are hard to follow but due to the writing style and the actresses ability to convey the story made it really simple to listen to and it felt like I could dive right in to where we had left off before.

Historia
Maddie Fynn is a shy high school junior, cursed with an eerie intuitive ability: she sees a series of unique digits hovering above the foreheads of each person she encounters. Her earliest memories are marked by these numbers, but it takes her father's premature death for Maddie and her family to realize that these mysterious digits are actually death dates, and just like birthdays, everyone has one.

Historia
An astonishing historical novel set in the shadowy, magical forests of South America, which draws on the captivating world of the international best seller The Watchmaker of Filigree Street. Deep in uncharted Peru, the holy town of Bedlam stands at the edge of a forest. The shrine statues move, and anyone who crosses the border dies. But somewhere inside are cinchona trees, whose bark yields quinine: the only known treatment for malaria. On the other side of the Pacific, it is 1859, and India is ravaged by the disease.

Fantastic air of suspense, can drag at times.
Revisado: 05-14-21
I loved this book the second I picked it up. I read it at the library before I bought it as the audio book. I felt like it dragged at times and really held on to it's mysteries until the very end or close to the very end. Which would be fine, if the book wasn't so long. I loved how it kept me wondering about what the mystery was or if there was magic in Peru. In general, I loved this book. But if you do not like characters that take forever to catch a breath while talking about a single subject, this probably is not for you.

Huge Questions!
Revisado: 12-15-18
I think it was okay, but I was awful for thinking that the movie was horrible because it was 80-90% on point to the book. Minus the sex scene and changing the ending to him killing everyone in the car. That didn't happen. It actually ended on a point that made you be the person to decide what had happened. If he killed them, they continued, or they stuck around in the hotel they had stayed at. They also led you to believe that the Mist might have been caused by the Arrowhead Project which he gave no other information on besides the name and the fact it was the government working on it. Again leaving it to your imagination or making it so you are looking for clues in some of his other books which I can't decide if that's cruel or bloody brilliant. I do say though, it was a rather short book and I would have preferred a wider mentally visual stance on what was happening through other characters and not just the main character and his little boy. There was no character development and no way for us to be more involved with other characters. I felt for him as a father and husband but I cant tell if that's because of his writing or because I am a wife and mother. So it felt lacking and could've been more fleshed out.
He also mentioned "there's no telling what they had been getting into up there." Which could either lead the reader to believe either it was up north of their location or in the sky somewhere. Again, they never talked about any of it. Nothing they had seen or thought about was odd with the army being in the area or what they had seen. Which was frustrating. However, I did enjoy it regardless to any of these rougher facts and I do crave more.

Historia
Although Scott Carey doesn’t look any different, he’s been steadily losing weight. There are a couple of other odd things, too. He weighs the same in his clothes and out of them, no matter how heavy they are. Scott doesn’t want to be poked and prodded. He mostly just wants someone else to know, and he trusts Doctor Bob Ellis. In the small town of Castle Rock, the setting of many of King’s most iconic stories, Scott is engaged in a low-grade - but escalating - battle with the lesbians next door whose dog regularly drops his business on Scott’s lawn. One of the women is friendly; the other, cold as ice.

Modern
Revisado: 12-15-18
Elevation. Stephen King does it again. Not only did this word have such empowering meaning in this book, but the entire idea behind this plot was quite terrifying to think about, but also inspiring and enlightening. I loved the modern take he took on the book as well, mentioning Trump and what kind of mindset he has put us under against other people such as the sweet lesbian couple in the book also including tablets and how our actions may affect others poorly and they may react in the wrong way when they are being put through some hardships. Not only did he bring forth a terrifying idea, but also made me think more about what I can do for others with the time I have on this Earth and it was very fulfilling and even though it was short, I wasn't left wanting at the end or like I had been neglected some key details. Can't wait for more books in 2019!!

Shane Dawson has always been an open book. From his first YouTube vlog back in 2008 to his feature film debut Not Cool to a cover story in Variety magazine, Shane has documented his life pre-tty thoroughly. We've seen awkward and adorable Q&As with his mom, weight-loss center drama, love life details, and the all-important haircut reveal. We've seen his hilarious spoofs of Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, and Sarah Palin. His music videos are awesome.

Funny at times, but real
Revisado: 08-21-18
I really enjoyed listening to Shane talk about his backstory. It was fun and enlightening. it also gave you a big dose of reality that nobody in this world has had it perfect, especially not Shane and that's why I really enjoyed his book. Shane keeps it real, but makes sure to remind you - and probably himself as well - that the world isn't entirely full of garbage and that there can be an upside in almost everything. Thanks, Shane, for helping me find some insight into my everyday life.

Historia
Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: The cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, and gray skies fall.

slow at start, but enjoyable.
Revisado: 12-19-17
*SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD*
I really, very much enjoyed this book. it started off a little slow, as you don't even hear about the ship until chapter 11-12. Honestly, I don't really see how the beginning of the book has a place with the rest of the story and there was a time where the story just slowed to a crawl. This is due to the fact that you only see the story from the original character's perspective. I won't go into it too much, you'll understand once you hear/read it. However, once it did get going it began to leave me at the edge of my seat. I tried on several occasions to come up with my own conclusions and make an theory or two up on my own but it bested me. Very well thought out. People who prefer a larger character view point however, beware. <3 I will be reading/hearing more of Ruth Ware.
