I picked this listen up thinking it would be a good time filler before the next installments come out from my favorite authors. Turns out I now have another series to follow! This book is superb. Tired of the overpowered MC? Worn out by authors who give everyting to their characters far too easily. Want a little struggle? This is the book for you. Refreshing in both the struggle but also in the meaningful victories Seth has created the start of a new masterpiece.

Great Book

This book has excellent characters, a great world, an interesting storyline, and a lot of future potential. I enjoy this book very thoroughly, and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Amazing as usual

I have been loving this series since Shadeslinger, and there is no change here. Still my favorite LitRPG. This is my favorite installment. Frank is franking amazing, House has come fully home, and Ned is is wonderful self. The narration continues to be top-shelf as well.

Amazing Story

This is one of the finest cultivation stories I have read. The mix with a dystopian future and a detective‘s perspective make it very unique. Travis Baldree’s performance is as usual incomparable. Loved it.

As with each of the previous books, this does not disappoint, in fact this is, IMHO, the best in the series. As Kyle matures into an even better author his books just get more complex and enjoyable. Many LitRPG series start out strong but end up being the same story over and over. Not so here!

Rich Classic Fantasy

If this book were food then it would probably be a very dark chocolate cake. The story is filled with memorable descriptions, realistic and deep characters, and a plotline that is worthy of these things. Much of what is called fantasy now is written, it would seem, for teens, this is definitely for experienced readers. But it is also a very moral story, nothing funny here, just solid readable fantasy that will leave you with rich images when you are done. Evil is evil and good is good as it should be. If you like Token or The Wheel of Time then you will like this book.

The Best LitRPG

I have been reading LitRPG books for a while now, and as another reviewer so deftly states, "There is a lot of C**P A$$ books in the genre". I could not agree more. Kyle Kirrin is a real author who tells amazing stories. You will laugh, cry, cringe, and yearn along with his characters for sure. Can not recommend this highly enough.

Amazing Sequel

Anyone who read the first book should be super excited to see that book two is available. I am no exception. Kyle Kirrin is an amazing author who tells amazing stories, not just a hack looking to cash in on the large number of people who are hungry for this genre. You will laugh, cry, cringe, and yearn along with his characters for sure. I don’t think I have ever read a book with so many fist pumps and genuine belly laughs. His world is believable, the world-building is amazing, and Frank is... Well, he's Frank, and Frank is awesome.
