Historia
Malibu: August 1983. It’s the day of Nina Riva’s annual end-of-summer party, and anticipation is at a fever pitch. Everyone wants to be around the famous Rivas: Nina, the talented surfer and supermodel; brothers Jay and Hud, one a championship surfer, the other a renowned photographer; and their adored baby sister, Kit. Together the siblings are a source of fascination in Malibu and the world over—especially as the offspring of the legendary singer Mick Riva. The only person not looking forward to the party of the year is Nina herself.

Not typical
Revisado: 08-19-21
This is a good book. The performance was excellent. It kept switching characters to drag it out at the party which became super annoying or I would have given it 5 stars. The ending was perfect and I liked how everything worked it’s way to that one moment in time. The countdown time reference was interesting and the time frame switch was superbly done.

Historia
When Lillo Gray pulls up to Kennebunkport’s most exclusive hotel wearing a borrowed dress and driving a borrowed VW van, she knows she’s made a big mistake. She’s not even sure why Jessica Parker invited her to her posh wedding. They haven’t seen each other since they were unhappy 14-year-old girls at fat camp. And now they’re from two completely different worlds.

Ya Summer Read but more
Revisado: 08-14-21
It’s a chick flick Ya book but it’s a good story. Excellent for a beach trip or light listen. I didn’t care for the person narrating but I got through it. You stayed in the book and it kept your attention. Overall I’m glad I chose it. I did however think it was due one more chapter as follow up. It just seemed to end abruptly.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Encapsulating
Revisado: 08-10-21
This is an incredible story alone but add in the beautiful scenery and how it’s described in such detail and you can actually believe you feel the spray from the marsh. I cried at various times and laughed out loud a few times but this book made me a little angry. Angry from a child’s point of view mostly bc the author and narrator did a wonderful job keeping you with her and her feelings. I highly recommend.

Historia
Texas, 1921. A time of abundance. The Great War is over, the bounty of the land is plentiful, and America is on the brink of a new and optimistic era. But for Elsa Wolcott, deemed too old to marry in a time when marriage is a woman’s only option, the future seems bleak. Until the night she meets Rafe Martinelli. By 1934, the world has changed; millions are out of work and drought has devastated the Great Plains. Elsa must make an agonizing choice: fight for the land she loves or leave it behind and go west, to California, in search of a better life for her family.

Always great
Revisado: 08-06-21
This one was powerful. It grabbed you and you were there. Like really there. In the dust bowl, on the plains with the storms. I highly recommend but map out the time because you will not won’t to be disturbed.
