Historia
The Aftermath of a stunning victory—especially an unexpected, complete, and final victory—should be high-fives all around, listening to politicians give boring congratulatory speeches, and a well-deserved rest for the Merry Band of Pirates. Yes, the galaxy is still a freakin' mess, but that is nothing new, and for a change, that can be someone else's problem. Until, you know, something really bad happens, and only the Pirates can deal with the problem... Or not.

Big Fan - very well done follow-on book
Revisado: 02-25-24
Nice surprise to see this book come out. Jumps 7 years forward, giving room to fill a story, while executing seamlessly. Big Fan of the series and this was one of the better books at that.

Historia
In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

Really wrapped up well in the end

You gotta make through to the last 2-3 episodes. Then it really gets good. Loved the character Roscoe as played by Brendon Frazier,

Historia
When an unknown someone shoots him and leaves him to die, Harry Dresden hopes he might be heading to a better place. Unfortunately being dead doesn't make Harry's life any easier. Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on - a feat that would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.

Ghost Story gives room to major arch
Revisado: 06-06-23
Ghost Story, a 5 for sure. First few chapters took some getting use too, but ultimately Butcher more than delivers. Complainers don’t seem to appreciate the major book series arch that develops with Ghost story coming in between the book before and after. Butcher is masterfully extended the boundaries of this series.

Really Like the end of month grading summary and more regular summary of specific conditions or predictions which “we maintain”. Narrators occasional sarcastic side comments are an interesting twist.

Historia
From New York Times best-selling author Erik Larson comes his first venture into fiction, an otherworldly tale of intrigue and the impossible that marshals his trademark approach to nonfiction to create something new: a ghost story thoroughly grounded in history. Pioneering psychologist William James leads an expedition to a remote isle in search of answers after a family inexplicably vanishes. Was the cause rooted in the physical world...or were there forces more paranormal and sinister at work?

Larson and narrated Rhind-Tutt truly deliver
Revisado: 12-16-21
Loved it. Narration was superb and Larson cleverly weaves a fictional tale by grounding it with some actual people and events from the time. Larson’s writing feels like time travel as usual - so we’ll done with the language speech patterns and perspective of the characters from that age. Story builds really well, but be sure to pay good attention in the second chapter when Larson provides background on the characters. Glad I had read thunderstruck first, as it ties in with this story.

Historia
It is said by some that the Spellmonger’s exile to the Magelaw left Sevendor, the City of Magic, unprotected in his absence. That would be untrue, for though the mightiest mage of the era was forced by law and custom to refrain from visiting his realm in Castal, he left behind a significant body of learned and dedicated colleagues to continue his policies and see to the protection of the magelands. These were not all warmagi, nor even High Magi; indeed, the strength of Sevendor depended on magi of all types and descriptions.

The ambient sound and effects were problematic
Revisado: 06-28-19
The ambient noise and sound effects were over done - a distraction and which made it difficult to understand the dialogue in various places. I love this book series. This particular effort was quite interesting, but needed a slightly less enthusiastic sound mix crew.

Really spoke to me, something significant here
Revisado: 06-23-18
Emily imparts a perspective on life that rings true and fresh. Over the decades, I've listen to a lot of books in the realm of inspiration and self-help. This book might rank as the most meaningful. Emily's approach is well thought-out, as she brings the reader to the heart of things. She breaks-down familiar challenges to modern day life, and presents a functional guideline to coping, which involves appropriately reassessing one's point of view with grace and absent the influence of our own ego. Emily notes that her concepts are primarily drawn from A Course in Miracles (something new to me as well). Be sure to listen long enough, it wasn't until I was probably half way through this book that I began to realize just how special the message was going to be. ..so many, good points, I've listen to the book twice more.
