This book grasped me from the beginning . Great story and believable. I heard some people complaining about racism when regarding the Vietnamese as gooks said it was overdone. I disagree as I've studied the history of Vietnam quite a bit and that's just how soldiers talked back then. Being a former soldier myself I found the language to be spot on and not out of the ordinary . De humanizing and inhumane enemy is common practice even if it is disgusting to the common man. Other than that there were very few racist slurs also considering the time frame of the book 50s 60s. Found it to fit the narrative of how people were back then not that I agree at all with using them towards others . This is a stellar series I really enjoyed it as I said hooked me almost immediately.

I do not remember if I listened to this story when it was back on kindle. Surely I listened to a few. most I read. At the time I was in the military and thoroughly enjoyed them. I remember enjoying the fact that someone was able to rally a group of soldiers Into overcoming the obstacle of night monsters. I remember onl y bits and pieces so it's nice to start fresh. Seems like it took forever for the series to come to audible. Not sure about the narrator yet. I do remember thoroughly enjoying the entire series the first go around. Don't see why it would be any different now

I have listened to all of these alien books thus far. I have even played the aliens fire Team game. I am a long time fan of the series. I failed to be drawn in to this story I don't know if it was the narrator or what. if you're a fan sure go ahead might as well at this point. seemed rather slow.

But I have no interest in them currently. I know you guys have created this wonderful masterpiece of a Series among other independent works as well. I wish you guys nothing but success . Though I would highly consider an art book if feasible.

I thoroughly enjoy this military fantasy take . I’ve never encountered anything quite like it. Yes I’ve read most of your other books and am currently listening to wayward galaxy. This is some hot stuff for real . Army rangers in fantasy land . Like RRRRRRRAAAANNNNGER World of Warcraft .

A must have Just as good the second time around .

I read a review that compared this to zombie fallout. I read these books before zombie fallout and found them to be more accurate as far as weapons / vehicle names which I pointed out to the author of ZF but that was my only complaint of that series . Which is ok I like both series in their own right. I used to be stationed at ft hood texas 60 miles or so from Austin. So everything about this book was visually referenced . Down to the water station right at the corner of the airfield on ft good I just found these books to be so good! Other than the improper pronunciation of molle often referred to as Molly or a Flick everything else was solid . It was just all around heartwarming. And interesting to see the characters transformation. I believe zombie fallout got more press because of mark tufos unique protagonist . But for one credit it is a must have. Not totally unrealistic in the tactical sense . How they blend in is cool .I honestly hope this book has its second coming and makes this dude a lot of money. I think he deserves it. I always like when characters move past and never consider race as an issue as well . Just brotherhood forged in survival. Next I hope mark Tufo comes out with boxed set as I lost track of those after I thought it ended moving onto the werewolf saga. Both are essential reads for sci-fi apocalypse sagas .

Kinda touched my soul.

Something about this book just grabbed me. Just the human element I guess. Thought it was a very good set of stories that tied together very well and I found to be very believable. And I tend to be kinda disinterested when there are a bunch of little technical details that just don’t make sense. Definitely worth the cash or a credit.

Nothing against the writers who took the time to write this book it was a good story

However I bought on short notice. And it served a purpose to get me through the day entertained. It just seemed like every time it got interesting , it hopped to another story. Just kind of paints an entire picture without a bunch of fighting and surviving. Was expecting something different I guess. I read the second one too that one I found to have more action. So just know going into it, that it is a slow roll not a bad story or anything. I’ll probably buy the third one some time soon
