Historia
While the North prevailed in the Civil War, ending slavery and giving the country a "new birth of freedom," Heather Cox Richardson argues in this provocative work that democracy's blood-soaked victory was ephemeral. The system that had sustained the defeated South moved westward and there established a foothold. It was a natural fit. Settlers from the East had for decades been pushing into the West, where the seizure of Mexican lands at the end of the Mexican-American War and treatment of Native Americans cemented racial hierarchies....

It would have been a much better book...
Revisado: 03-21-21
If the Author included (R) or (D) with people's names. But then it would have been harder to push the Democratic lie that the Parties have switched. The book seems historically accurate but at times misleading. Because of the missing (R or D)

My favorite quote is : The poor & middle class work for money. The rich let money work for them.
That is life changing, if you let it.

The legendary investor shows how to identify and master the cycles that govern the markets. We all know markets rise and fall, but when should you pull out, and when should you stay in? The answer is never black or white, but is best reached through a keen understanding of the reasons behind the rhythm of cycles. Confidence about where we are in a cycle comes when you learn the patterns of ups and downs that influence not just economics, markets and companies, but also human psychology and the investing behaviors that result.

Once I got past the mention of options.
Revisado: 12-08-19
I realized options & futures isn't the only place it will work. It will also work without borrowing money at all. Which is what leverage is. Just a fancy word for borrowing money. That's when I really started enjoying the book. The one thing I wish they would have done differently in the audio book is have two different voices for the conversation in chapter 9. It would have made it easier to follow.

More of a dictionary than a story about money
Revisado: 06-26-18
I was expecting more of a story on how to speak money. As a dictionary he left out a few "P" s. I guess I'll have to keep looking for a definition for Par, Puts, (although options are covered) & Points. Basis points is covered: 100th of 1%. But if the Dow goes up 100 points which is 1% as an example. That would make it 100% which is 1%. Which makes no sense at all.
