Good story, had trouble with the performance.

The book and story were pretty good. It's the first I've read, even though it's #10 in the series. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I had more trouble with the performance. There was something about the voice of the narrator. I tried different speeds but just couldn't get into the performance. It was more like a grade-school teacher reading a book out loud to a classroom that they'd never read before. It had odd inflections and pauses. I had a hard time enjoying the story that way. I wound up getting the story in eform and reading it myself. That is how I know I enjoyed the storyline. I've not listened to anything by this narrator before. I'll have to give them another try. If that doesn't work - then I'll have to pass on this narrator in the future.

I love all the Lady Hardcastle books. I am always eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. I love the strong female characters. Flo and Lady Hardcastle are awesome. They are cheeky with each other and get into very interesting adventures. In this, there is a theft at a Christmas party. So fun.
