When Agent Joshua Stone is called to a high-level meeting at the Department of Homeland Security, he learns about a new global order which will be transitioning into power. Stone is read in on the plan for a single planetary government and a world-wide cashless-currency, which will step in to fill the void left by the failing monetary system. Love the scripture quotes.

I like the biblical aspect of this post apocalyptic novel. So many books in this genre can be filled with too much graphic details so I found this series to be refreshing.

Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he’s not there.

Historia
In the snowbound city of Kiev, wry and bookish history student Mila Pavlichenko organizes her life around her library job and her young son—but Hitler’s invasion of Russia sends her on a different path. Given a rifle and sent to join the fight, Mila must forge herself from studious girl to deadly sniper—a lethal hunter of Nazis known as Lady Death. When news of her three hundredth kill makes her a national heroine, Mila finds herself torn from the bloody battlefields of the eastern front and sent to America on a goodwill tour.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Historia
Henry never realized he was special. Sure, he’s an engineer who served his country, but when the virus hit, he found himself alone in a nearly empty world. That’s the key, though: nearly empty. There’s no one left who has the technical know-how to make the world run again...except for Henry. For humanity to survive, he will have to rebuild society out of the motley crew of survivors. It might be impossible, but at the same time, Henry has always loved a challenge.

Not a fan
Revisado: 02-23-24
The story plot was good except for all the sex scenes. Forest comes off as quite the a—hole. The fact that he thinks it is okay to bed women out of wedlock soon after meeting them and sleeping with 2 women at a time made me hate his overall personality. The author of this book whom develops this character revels much of his own moral character and view of woman. While pretending to respect them he demeans them. He has quite the ego and thinks he is a Don Juan. The plot could be developed better as there were good bones in the story. Overall I thought it was a trashy novel.

Historia
Brilliantly executed and compulsively listenable, Unsheltered is the story of two families, in two centuries, who live at the corner of Sixth and Plum, as they navigate the challenges of surviving a world in the throes of major cultural shifts. In this mesmerizing story told in alternating chapters, Willa and Thatcher come to realize that though the future is uncertain, even unnerving, shelter can be found in the bonds of kindred - whether family or friends - and in the strength of the human spirit.

The story had bones but too much of political slants. I felt as though the author was making an argument for communism. I think it really detracted from an otherwise good story.
