This was original & exciting! I listened to books 1-3 & while SOME of the dialogue is to be desired & SOME of the Narration is to be desired, all in all, it was an excellent start to the series. I love how people review these books, as if they are capable of captivating a world wide audience themselves! It had great character development, lots of action, & plenty of bad guys & dead things that needed killin! I love the writer wasn’t scared to kill off what I felt were or could be big characters. Before I finished book 1 in the first box set I bought 3 credits to get the other 2 box sets in the series over a 140 hours in all 3 box sets! So if you enjoys listening to post apocalyptic books, this one is just as entertaining as many others! Starting the middle books of the series now!

Action Packed & AMAZING

I have listened to nothing but apocalyptic & post apocalyptic books for almost a year & this was one of the best! There were parts that I just couldn’t stop listening to until I found out what happened next & there were parts I found myself crying! Job well done to the author! The narrator, Kevin Pierce, is absolutely one of my favorites. For some reason I feel like I am child again that has gathered around with my brother & cousins at a family get together to hear one of my uncles or even my grandpa tell a story! Listening to his narrations feel like home & in my opinion, you can’t get better than that! I have recommended Audible to anyone & everyone that will stand there & listen to me talk about it so of course I will be pushing folks to take a chance & spend 1 credit on this book for hours of entertainment!

Exciting Find

I started listening to Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic book sets back in the fall & listened to so many that I was worried I was just about out of the ones for “adults” (some of them seem tailored to a young audience). I came across this set and had listened to a few of John David Farrell’s other narrations so I thought why not?!
I guess because I jump from one book to the next as soon as I am done, it usually Takes a while for me to become invested in the characters/books... not this time! I enjoyed it from the beginning! There are a few areas where the writing felt “clipped” like it was an afterthought & cheesy sounding however it was not enough for me to loose interest. The main character, Lucus, is rough & haunted soul who, to me, is continually struggling to hold onto his moral compass with each decision he makes. His female counterpart was a little dumbfounding at times & I found myself thinking ‘who in their right mind would behave like that or make such stupid decisions with all of the smart, capable, & willing to help in any situation folks who she could depend on’ but I understand some of that was needed for the transition to the next thing. Again, these thoughts were fleeting & didn’t remove 1 ounce of excitement for the next chapter for me.
When I started with the last book in the boxset, I started to get upset that it was almost over. I went onto Audible to see if this writer had wrote anything else that I might be interested in & I found out that it doesn’t end with book 4! There are 4 more books! So of course I ordered extra credits & stocked up for more adventure! Well worth the 1 credit to get this boxset & I’m hoping that the 4 individual follow-up books are worth it as well!

I am so excited to have found this author & this series! Great read! Every time I think I know where the story is going, it changes & keeps me listening! Tim Tigner is one of my new favorite authors & Dick Hill has been a favorite narrator since I started listening to books!!

One of the best Stelljes books yet!

Absolutely amazing!! This is one of the best Stelljes books yet! I found Roger Stelljes when I first signed up for Audible because they offered a box set for the 1 free credit. That was the best purchase ever!! But when it comes to audible a good offered book is only half of the equation! The narrator… Johnny Peppers… Does an amazing job with everything he does! He keeps me hanging on with the voices and the way he tells the story! I continue to look for the books he narrates & would know his voice anywhere!!
