Historia
With the August heat strong enough to melt solid chocolate into syrup, Jake and Ellie crave a break from the bakery ovens, despite tourist season promising a sweet payday. But they never envisioned spending the last weeks of summer drifting around Passamaquoddy Bay searching for pirate’s treasure—and a dead body. Sally Coates believes her husband was murdered off the coast, and begs Ellie, a trusted childhood friend, to locate his remains. It’s unusual that a skilled fisherman would vanish along with the gold doubloon he inherited from his grandfather.

I miss the old narrator
Revisado: 04-25-24
I usually love this series, but for some reason I didn't enjoy this one as much. also, the narrator's voice was too unexciting.

Historia
Grier Woolworth spends her nights weaving spooky tales of lost souls and tragedies for tourists on the streets of downtown Savannah. Hoop skirt and parasol aside, it's not a bad gig. The pay is crap, but the tips keep the lights on in her personal haunted mansion and her pantry stocked with ramen. Life is about as normal as it gets for an ex-necromancer hiding among humans - until the society that excommunicated Grier offers her a second chance at being more than ordinary. Too bad no one warned her the trouble with being extraordinary is it can get you killed.

It's a bit hard to follow. This is supposed to be the first book in the series, but I feel like I must have missed several prior books.

Puzzling
Revisado: 01-16-23
This book was depressing, confusing, and left me wondering what exactly happened. The narration in itself is depressing, with not much inflection for either voice. Don't waste a credit or your money. I won't be listening to this book again.

Glad I took a chance
Revisado: 01-04-23
This book has a very Douglas Adams feel to it. I enjoyed the flow of the stories and thought the references to modern day Earth were funny. Did not enjoy the "Karen" reference (I want to speak to the manager!) I really liked how he sort of broke the 4th wall in these books. would definitely listen again and have the next book in my wish list.

And the same night Annie makes her shattering appraisal, the janitor on duty is killed - and Ernst disappears. To top it all off, a well-known art dealer has absconded with multiple Old Master drawings, leaving yet more forgeries in their places. Finding the originals - and pocketing the reward money - will get Annie's new landlord off her back.

A little hard to follow
Revisado: 07-21-22
There was a lot going on in this book. The main character is a bit of a dingbat and makes unwise decisions. The narrator's voice is low and sleepy in some places and it was easy to lose interest. I'm not sure if I'll listen to the next one.

Decent story, didn't like the narrator
Revisado: 06-25-20
I enjoyed this third installment of the Tiki Goddess series, and maybe I'm just used to the narrator of the first 2 books, but the narrator for this one got on my nerves. Many of the voices had a screechy quality, and it was a little difficult to listen to. Otherwise, I did like the book.

Kind of depressing
Revisado: 11-07-19
All the men in this book seem to be angry all the time, and unreasonable. Granted, the women respond in kind, but all the conflict in this book makes me want to listen to something happy. I don't usually read romance, I think I'll be sticking with that plan and go back to mystery and suspense, and cozy mysteries.
