Not much of a review, but if you like history and adventure, this is great choice.

His predictions of modern life that he claimed to have seen in 1978 would have made more sense if he wrote them down in 1978 instead of after they already occurred. The most believable part of his story takes place in the first 30 minutes. After that he sounds like a right wing fanatic.

First book was pretty good, but it fades pretty fast in book 2 and 3. I regret buying the first book because it was just good enough to hook me into buying the next two books in the series. It was more like a romance book about camping than end times thriller.

I regret buying this series. The first book was good enough to think it had potential as a series. The second book was disappointing, but I thought maybe it was setting up the next part of the story. Unfortunately it didn't. The story got dumber and dumber. I was rooting for the bad guys half way through the book. I even considered that maybe I'm the wrong audience, because I'm a Christian man, but this reads like a romance book aimed at women. I asked my wife about it and her opinion was even worse than mine. It's like they're trying to gouge Christians by slapping a little theology onto a mediocre romance book just to sell a few extra copies.

There's a big, largely untapped market for clean adventure/romance books, but the overall quality of most of them is depressing. Most of them seem like first attempts for a creative writing class at the local Community College. My review may seem harsh, but I feel like books like this are taking advantage of people desperate for clean entertainment.

There's a big market for Christian fiction action/adventure books with clean language out there if someone could write an above average story and pair it with a good narrator.

This story is good enough, with a few parts that made little sense. It might have been because it wasn't always easy to tell who was talking since the narrator had the range of a young child telling their class about their summer vacation. It was absolutely the worst narration I've ever paid for. I'm going to buy the next book in the series, but only because I know they changed narrators. Quite often my wife and I were having difficulty telling who was speaking since everyone sounded more or less alike. Every character sounded like the same woman talking, male or female and if the character had an accent of any kind it sounded like the most shallow of stereotypes.

I looked up this narrator to see if they were new to this business. I was surprised that a person narrating a book with Christian theology central to it's plot also narrates what appears to be gay romances. If nothing else, they're definitely trying to find their niche in the business.

My wife loved the story and she's much more forgiving to stupid people. but I'm the one writing this review and my tolerance isn't nearly as high.
When your bad choices put your children and others in danger you should be called out for it.

Amazing story, but I couldn't get over how foolishness she was when she had opportunities to leave her 3rd world helll hole. Her husband wanted her to move to the US, but she wanted to stay in the country that sexually mutilated her and treated her like a criminal for being a Christian. Then when she gets released she thinks she can just go home and forget about all the lunatics that want to kill her. I would never trust a Sudanese doctor if someone so foolish was able to graduate from one of their medical schools.

Her husband was pretty much useless throughout the story. They both complain about how the US didn't do enough to save her, despite the US Ambassador being one of the reasons she survived. I guess they expected the US to send in the A-team to save her from her bad choice of staying in Sudan. Our relationship with Sudan has been bad for years. the US is limited on what they can do short of invading to free her. Italy on the other hand had a fairly good relationship with Sudan so they could do better at winning her freedom diplomatically. I can't believe I'm defending President Obama, but considering our bad relationship with Sudan he really couldn't push too hard for their freedom. They were both ungrateful for the help that they did get. She was offended that the US was unwilling to spend our tax dollars and political favors without proving the children were US citizens. Asking for a DNA test was a reasonable request.

Despite all their complaints about the US, guess where they end up living?

Each story was inspirational. It's sad to see how consistently evil people can be, but inspiring to see how these women stay faithful to their God.

I've listened to almost all of his books. This was my favorite book so far. Plenty of action, romance and tragedy. It kept me guessing about what would happen next.

The only thing I wasn't a fan of was narration, but honestly the voice grew on me and I'm glad he's narrating the next two books.

I'm 55 years old and have never read any Narnia book nor watched any of the movie adaptions. Wonderful stories with deep meaning. Excellent narration on all titles.

We are so blessed to be born with a loving God instead of one that demands murder for nearly every transgression.
