For Everyone….except maybe married individuals.
Revisado: 08-31-21
I’m not Buddhist, I’m actually Christian but found myself feeling stagnant in my studies and faith. I didn’t have desire to open the scriptures and I felt stuck in the social media rut. I prayed and asked God to show me what I needed in my life to feel energized in my faith again. Nick’s YouTube channel and then this book were two of several things I felt led to. I knew I had to try the 24 hour cleanse. It has really helped a lot and was the jump start that I needed.
I would like to repeat this cleanse several times a week, however, I’m a little confused. I’m not sure if this cleanse was mostly meant for unmarried individuals or if it is expected for married people to eventually become completely celibate…? I’m thinking that abstaining from sex and sleeping on the floor instead of in the bed with my spouse may not go over too well or be good for our relationship….so not sure what the expectation from Buddhist philosophy is there, but obviously I will be modifying a bit. 🙃

Historia
Mattie Ross, a 14-year-old girl from Dardanelle, Arkansas, sets out to avenge her Daddy who was shot to death by a no-good outlaw. Mattie convinces one-eyed "Rooster" Cogburn, the meanest U.S. marshal in the land, to ride along with her. In True Grit, we have a true American classic, as young Mattie, as vital as she is innocent, outdickers and outmaneuvers the hard-bitten men of the trail in a legend that will last through the ages.

Great series

I enjoyed this entire series. I thought the underlying message about humanity poignant, the characters well developed, plot and overall story well thought out and easy to listen to.

Truly inspiring
Revisado: 02-22-19
I was truly touched and inspired by this book. I read this originally to see if it might be a good solution for my obese husband and teenage daughter. I don’t struggle with actual weight issues myself, but i do struggle silently with my relationship with food, my body and eating. I would like to try the bright line maintenance plan to hopefully quiet the voices and get rid of the stress and obsession I have with food. And if can help my depression and anxiety in the meantime that would be amazing. My husband started to listen to the audio and I’m hoping he will get on board do this as a family. (Of course continuing to feed my children healthy starches). I was especially inspired by Susan’s story at the beginning and her sincere gratitude in the acknowledgements at the end. I felt like this is something she truly, deeply believes in and has given her whole heart and soul to accomplishing. Thank you for this work and movement to help so many overcome their struggles.

Historia
When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert of Green Gables, Prince Edward Island, send for a boy orphan to help them out at the farm, they are in no way prepared for the error that will change their lives. The mistake takes the shape of Anne Shirley, a redheaded 11-year-old girl who can talk anyone under the table. Fortunately, her sunny nature and quirky imagination quickly win over her reluctant foster parents. Anne's feisty spirit soon draws many friends - and much trouble - her way.

I read these books as a girl and still love them as an adult. Mary Sarah did an amazing job as narrator.
