Loved parts, disliked others.

First for the loved parts. I loved the parts about remembering things about his mom, the time working at the Australia ranch, Africa , the military stories and learning to fly a helicopter. His descriptions of the homes and gardens were all wonderful writing. I gave this 5/5. However then he moved more into paparazzi and the tabloids that in America everyone knows are fake. They are only entertaining, not an ounce of truth. He should have pulled a Trump “fake news” and brushed them aside. But instead this poor young man hides in car trunks and is pushed the the point of needing therapy. I felt bad for him but also wished he had been able to stop watching the tabloids. It made the parts about that so difficult to endure as a listener. As an outsider who was bullied as a child, maybe it’s easier for me to say to avoid them if it’s going to mess with your head, or to find a way to look at them and laugh. I hope he can find peace and his darling wife as well. Bringing in the wasp the bee, and the fight with William as an adult, some of the stories towards the end may have aired to much laundry to fix for a long time in his family. I found it difficult to not want to fast forward. These parts became 1 star for me. I do not think it will help heal any wounds for them but instead cause a gaping hole between him and his family by the ending of the book.

I love horse stories but was put off a few times in this book.

I trained show horses professionally for 15 years so I wanted to help the heroine not be so naïve. A flip over backwards horse is never one to stand and watch. Then who shanks a horse over the nose or under the chin that rears up and flips over backwards? Then is this young trainer so naïve that she can’t even see the horses feet are too wide or not angled right and does not sit there and micromanage her farrier? Yes if the Farrier does a fantastic job you leave them alone if they leave them a little long or a little wide you hold the horse and tell them what you want. Get hoof xrays to prove your moving towards getting that horse in balance with his coffin bones. Oh well 10-14 yr old girls should love the book.

I love that the book had a family theme Real world issues that families deal with in some ways and still managed to have a love story. I also really like that the author did not feel the need to use the F word all the time to tell her story like many romance novels do. Thank you, I will now be reading and listening to all your books!

I really liked the story but it started with such strong language I stopped listening. I am glad I gave it a second chance another day but I do not know if I will listen to the other books in this series due to the cussing.

Great book by Brenda Joyce

Wonderful story of an intelligent woman who breaks through the gender barrier of her time to voice her opinions in a thoughtful manner. She even attracts a nobleman and her grandma along the way.

Awesome series

Great series. Cynthia Eden has done a fantastic job with this series. I love books where the strong male lead is in love with the lady and not mean to her but she must get her stuff together to see what she has. This book does not disappoint. Rated R due to some language and make out scenes.
