Historia
From the Upper Room of Pentecost to Azusa Street in Los Angeles, God has used prayer movements throughout history to change the world. Over fifteen years ago, a group of students gathered for a prayer vigil in Chichester, England—and the prayers they started haven’t stopped. Out of that first meeting came 24-7 Prayer: an international movement of prayer, mission, and justice that has reached Chinese underground churches, Indian slums, Papua New Guinea jungles, ancient English cathedrals, and even a brewery in Missouri.

Prayer movements aren't new, but 24-7 is one of next iterations. We're part of a collaborative design process facilitated by the Holy Spirit. It's like watching God rapid prototype his own vision.

I love audio books that feel like the author is just talking to me. It's still the content, but way more relational; which is what the most effective learning is.

The dominant perspective in coaching is that performance coaching and development coaching are two different things; ne'er the twain shall meet. This book makes a clear case for their interdependence. Beautiful.

I love how the HBR books mix theory with tactic; Research and application. Because it isn't enough to have a vague desire for different. I need data and practical knowledge to guide my movement toward different.

Historia
Rapid change defines the world around us, requiring a more effective type of organization. New discoveries change our understanding of how the world works, and Margaret J. Wheatley shows us how the “new science” can lead to a powerful new view of the business world. Our world has become nonlinear and filled with constant transition, and this new understanding can be applied to the way we organize work, people, and our lives. Wheatley invites us to transform our way of thinking and adapt ourselves—and our companies—to the 21st century by offering a new way of thinking.

Historia
Become a better decision-maker and more informed consumer using statistics stories. Stories stimulate our brains to enhance retention and understanding by evoking emotions. They provide context, helping us grasp complex concepts through real-life examples and establish a connection with the information. By transforming data into narratives, we recall and thus apply insights more effectively, enhancing our ability to make more informed decisions. Perfect for the Math-Averse. You don’t need to crunch numbers to make statistics valuable.

Great Overview of the Science
Revisado: 01-04-25
This book is fantastic for two kinds of people. Person 1) You have a clear vision for your life, you've found an organization that fits with you, and now you're ready to create value for the community you're committed to serve. This book gives takes a focused look at what the current science tells us about how to create value for an organization (Effron's analysis over indexes unapologetically on performance, cuz that's the purpose of the book; I can hold space for that; he never promised to give a well rounded treatise on organizational development). Person 2) You want to advance your career and are not too concerned with your own core values or vision. This book gives grounded advice. I appreciate knowing what the science says. Warm thanks to Marc Effron for this valuable contribution!
