Exciting and Insightful
Revisado: 03-13-25
This is an incredibly interesting story and production. The story itself presents an unflattering snapshot of a Hollywood most of us will never experience. The narration was equally compelling. I felt as if I knew the main character personally by the end of the book. I think this would make a wonderful movie. Bravo to all involved.

Historia
Six minutes after takeoff, Flight 1421 crashes into the Pacific Ocean. During the evacuation, an engine explodes and the plane is flooded. Those still alive are forced to close the doors—but it’s too late. The plane sinks to the bottom with twelve passengers trapped inside. More than two hundred feet below the surface, engineer Will Kent and his eleven-year-old daughter Shannon are waist-deep in water and fighting for their lives.

Historia
PhD candidate Phoebe Walsh has always been obsessed with true crime. She's even analyzing the genre in her dissertation—if she can manage to finish writing it. It's hard to find the time while she spends the summer in Florida, cleaning out her childhood home, dealing with her obnoxiously good-natured younger brother, and grappling with the complicated feelings of mourning a father she hadn't had a relationship with for years.

Followed the Formula
Revisado: 08-14-24
The narrator was excellent. That was the best part of the book, actually. The story could have benefited from a more adult storyline and omitting the teenage romance aspect. A listener would know exactly what was about to transpire at almost every turn.

Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

Preposterous plot and overacting on the part of reader. Frankly, this book was disappointing and annoying. I didn’t even finish it.

I thought the basic story was good. The hatred shown for white people was overboard. The voices of each character changed from scene to scene. I often had difficulty distinguishing the voices.

The story line could have been better utilized. Instead, this book became boringly typical of the bottom rung of the mystery and thriller genre.

I quickly tired of the overly dramatic narration. The story is being pulled like taffy to create a sense of suspense and concern for the main character. Please just get on with it!

I enjoyed the story and the narration. The references to shameless conduct on the part of some of our so called “leaders” were appreciated.
