A wonderfully dark collection of stories by one of the masters. I am a “constant reader” and this collection, in my opinion, is one of his best. The narrator, Will Patton is one of my favorites for Mr. King’s tales. He does a great job as well.

I wasn’t expecting too much when I started playing this book. Just something to fill the void, but I really enjoyed the story. Supernatural meets sci-fi. Alternate realities. That’s all I will say.

As usual. A mix of some supernatural along with great detective work. Reminded me a bit of the very first novel when we meet Agent Pendergast.
I was disappointed in the portrayal of Constance and Pendergast. I would’ve liked to hear Pendergast in the more dignified, refined way that he has always been described as. Here he sounds just like an ordinary person from the south. Constance was not portrayed as she’s always been described. I always thought of her as having a refined demure manner. The voice just does not match to my perception of Constance.

I love this detective series. I am listening for a second time! I’ve also read them prior to Audible. The narrators are good and capture Pendergast’s accent very well as I imagined. The stories are suspenseful and always end with a wow! The side story of Agent Pendergast is so interesting as well as Lieutenant D’Agosta. Keeps me coming back to learn more. I’m always on pins and needles waiting for the next book.
