Interesting Story with Highlights of Covid!

First and foremost, this was an interesting story that will probably not be available due to the ubiquity of the Internet and smart phones now. This story was an intriguing glimpse into the world of China and the treatment of foreigners during that time. My only complaint, if it could be called that, is that the book wasn't longer. There is so much more to explore and its clear the author had more stories to tell. The insight into the cleanliness or the lack thereof from the Chinese are exceptionally telling and could have basically forecast the Covid pandemic with the denial, belief that "China doesn't suit you" and then blame on others. Terribly telling and wish a lesson our government should have heeded.

My real complaint is the voice actor should be fired. I heard his phone buzz no less than six times during the recording. Who does that? That's very disappointing for someone who claims they are a professional and plugs themselves at the end of the book. Maybe he should plug his phone?

What was one of the most memorable moments of American Zeroes?

Too many to count. There were a lot of interesting plot twists that showcase the author's writing skills but there is still so much to clear up that we will never know. I guess that is the beauty of the zero.

It made me think.

This story is the epitome of the new "alt-right", fascist movement going on in the United States after the election of Donald Trump. It's scary to see how ill informed and uneducated in the ways of the world and surrounds of the protagonist is a stereotypical loser (or zero, get it!) that deserves a deeper look and, maybe, even a second listen. His thoughts and actions are being echoed daily after the election so things have become a little too real for me to thoroughly enjoy this book.

Would you try another book from Jim Yoakum and/or Pavi Proczko?

Maybe. Proczko was great. Yoakum was... interesting? I mean the book is weird.

Has The Banana Massacre turned you off from other books in this genre?

This starts as a funny little book but then last chapter gets DEEEEEEPPP and deep fast.

What about Pavi Proczko’s performance did you like?

AMAZING PERFORMANCE! Great all around.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Hell no.

What did you love best about Satan's Plea?

This is an interesting perspective from the "other side." I was intrigued and it didn't fail to deliver. Very cool little story.

AMAZING.

It's good to look at things from a different perspective and this showcases that fact.

Eh, too basic

This book could be twice this length and actually cover some depth. Instead, Stone, works from a mile long and an inch deep perspective. Very, very basic information.

It's tough to keep up with all the characters involved but this is an incredible book and I cannot wait for the third.
