Historia
On a serene night in 1953, Sally Mason, a dedicated wife and mother of two, drives a twisting road on her way home from night school. Suddenly, a mysterious bluish-white light descends over the road. Terrified, Sally slams on the brakes. After a flash of bright light nearly blinds her, she passes out, awakening to the persistent knock of a police officer on her car window. When she sees the officer and remembers her frightening experience, she screams and faints, and is rushed to the hospital.

Bravo!

This was a fantastic read “(listen)”.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story line as well as the the narration.
Not necessarily a different type of story, but a story that is done from a different view point. While I didn’t find it to be a story that I couldn’t put down, I did find it extremely refreshing and entertaining, and that is because it is from Sally’s point of view.
The details of the 1950’s to the present were presented very well and made this seem very believable.
Reading this story has me hoping that we all have a guardian angel of some sort watching over us.

Historia
At the height of the air war in Europe, Captain Joe Farley and the baseball-loving, wisecracking crew of the B-17 Flying Fortress Fata Morgana are in the middle of a harrowing bombing mission over eastern Germany when everything goes sideways. The bombs are still falling and flak is still exploding all around the 20-ton bomber as it is knocked like a bathtub duck into another world.

The other Reviewers Were Not Wrong!
Revisado: 12-13-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes definitely. This story was told very clearly and almost always with a bit of suspense. It was hard to put it away most times. One of the other reviewers had said that it would make for an excellent movie and they are right.
What did you like best about this story?
I like a good Science Fiction tale as much as the next person and I agree that the whole travel back in time or the future has been done many times over but the concept of this story puts a little different spin on things. I also liked the amount of factual detail that the author put into the story line concerning things like the B-17 and the weapons systems.
Have you listened to any of Macleod Andrews’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first one and boy, am I ever hooked now. Mr. Andrew's voice changes for each character are beyond good and extremely entertaining. You could tell that he did his character study when he would use the voice mannerisms for the 40's people as well as the ones from the future.
If you could rename Fata Morgana, what would you call it?
After hearing the meaning of Fata Morgana, I wouldn't change it at all.
Any additional comments?
If you like Sci-Fi, a well written story line and an over the top good narrator, then use your credit now. You wont regret it.

Totally Believable !
Revisado: 08-31-16
A book that is a little different than most other apocalyptic novels as this one doesn't have anything stretched beyond the imagination.
Excellent story line that keeps you hanging on and putting you right in the middle of it with complete clarity. It's almost like you can see the images in your head, much like watching it on a movie screen as you hear Kevin Pierce's voice read to you.

Be Prepared - to listen a lot!
Revisado: 09-23-12
What made the experience of listening to Patriots the most enjoyable?
There is a boatload of information in this book that you can use for practical applications and planning.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Patriots?
When the group set out to scout out the new military and engaged them at a distance - right before the climax of the story.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Dick Hill?
Yes, but he really needs to work on his female voice mimickery.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, when one of the founders was shot in a road side ambush.
Any additional comments?
This book is almost a bible for preppers. It goes hand in hand with James Wesley Rawles other book, How to survive the end of the world as we know it. If you were to read Patriots first, you would most likely be lost on his lengthy descriptions of equipment and terms. This book describes in detail all of the equipment, planning and utilization that that Patriots is based on. Read them both and get a full understanding of what to expect in a full blown bug out situation. Patriots and How to survive the end of the world as we know it should be basic homework for anyone who has even considered prepping.
