Eye opening and well written!

I really enjoyed this book and was surprised at all the emotion I felt. Kathryn does a amazing job covering both sides of the vaccination debate, so much so you can't tell what side she is on and I still don't know. The main character Grace has good intentions but finds herself in the center of a measles outbreak, after she had made a decision not to vaccinate her son. I loved the character Ms. Fox and thought her news articles, were brave, educational and did a great job covering both sides of the vaccine debate. The book reminds me that people should respect other's decisions, while encouraging people to make informed and educated choices.

Chasing Hope had me hoping!
Revisado: 12-17-18
This is the first book I listened to from Kathryn Cushman and I was engaged from the very beginning. I loved the characters and the narrator. Even though this is a story of loss and disappointment in failed dreams, you are inspired by the determination of the characters and the hope of second chances. I found myself, wanting to start running, wishing I had been a athlete and wanting to watch the movie Chariots of Fire. I love the quote in the book and believe it to be true, "All things work together for good."

Excellent and Powerful

This was a tragic but heartfelt story, that touched my heart and was so well written. About a mom’s journey through loss, separation, keeping her Christian faith and trying to save her son. As a mom, this was a story that I felt could have happened to me and I was engaged every second while listening. Violence and drug addiction effects each and every one of us. Leaving Yesterday touches gracefully on both those subjects and how they can effect “normal” families, even those with a Matriarch with a strong Christian faith. I highly recommend this audio book, especially to those parents that have lost a child and/or have a child battling drug addiction. I was sad it came to a end and just like the two other Kathryn Cushman audio books I have listened to, I cried the last 30 minutes of the story. And even though I was happy with the end, be warned Katherine doesn’t wrap everything up with a perfect bow. She keeps it realistic, which makes me love it that much more!
