Historia
One of the most significant books ever written by a head of state, the Meditations are a collection of philosophical thoughts by the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (121 - 180 ce). Covering issues such as duty, forgiveness, brotherhood, strength in adversity and the best way to approach life and death, the Meditations have inspired thinkers, poets and politicians since their first publication more than 500 years ago. Today, the book stands as one of the great guides and companions - a cornerstone of Western thought.

Historia
In this seminal work that has spent more than 30 years in print, Dennis Prager and Joseph Telushkin explain the reasons behind anti-Semitism, the world's preoccupation with the Jews and Israel, and why now more than ever the world needs to confront anti-Jewish sentiment. Prager and Telushkin examine in detail how anti-Semitism is a unique hatred - no other prejudice has been as universal, deep, or permanent - and how the concept of the "chosen people" spawned that hatred.

Debatable arguments
Revisado: 04-14-22
I expected something more balanced and well written but I ended up with right wing propaganda. I’m not trying to diminish the subject or the suffering experienced by the Jewish community, I’m just saying that I wish someone else wrote this book.

The audio could have been better
Revisado: 02-24-22
I enjoyed reading this book but the audio quality was poor to say the least. It would phase in and out between being audible and inaudible for the entire book.
It was way too noticeable for me to ignore.

Historia
Since the Second World War, Arab armed forces have consistently punched below their weight. They have lost many wars that by all rights they should have won, and in their best performances only ever achieved quite modest accomplishments. Over time, soldiers, scholars, and military experts have offered various explanations for this pattern.

Insightful yet dull
Revisado: 05-26-21
The insight I gained about Arab culture and its knock on effects on organizational performance was indispensable. The battlefield descriptions however left plenty to be desired and only served to water down the social significance of the good content in this book.

At first I didn’t get it but then I got it
Revisado: 04-15-21
I always wanted to believe that Steve Jobs was nothing more than a prickly, thin skinned and egotistical salesman but I grew to appreciate him when I realized how much of his influence had affected my life.
I’m writing this on an IPhone after listening to this book with my noise canceling AirPods while struggling to find some sort of way to diminish the influence that he’s had on our world.
The guy talked the talk but also managed to walk the walk. If you want to listen to a story of divine inspiration and personal redemption you can either read the Bible or read this biography.

Historia
The world is being shaken by the collision of energy, climate change, and the clashing power of nations in a time of global crisis. The "shale revolution" in oil and gas - made possible by fracking technology, but not without controversy - has transformed the American economy, ending the "era of shortage", but introducing a turbulent new era. Almost overnight, the United States has become the world's number one energy powerhouse - and, during the coronavirus crisis, brokered a tense truce between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
