Historia
The Bride’s Runaway Billionaire is a deliciously juicy and utterly swoony romcom featuring a jaded optimist who’s had enough of the limelight, a happy-go-lucky celebrity whose world has been upside down since that fling after his divorce, the most adorable two-year-old on the planet, and a chicken with an attitude. While this book stands alone, you won’t go wrong to listen to The Worst Wedding Date, The Gossip and the Grump, and The Last Eligible Billionaire first.

Conner Crais Chapter 37…..Thank you sir, thank you
Revisado: 01-27-24
That whooshing sound you hear when listening to Mr. Crais in chapter 37? Every listen’s undergarments melting right off. I have never had a narrator make me stop what I’m doing just so I am able to fully appreciate the timber of that voice while reading a very well written chapter. Well done, sir. Well. Done. Swear to God, it’s hot in here now.

Cell notifications
Car noises
Doors closing
Reading this so fast the narrator would make an auctioneer proud.
No emotion in narrative voice.
What is even happening here?
I hope Kaci didn’t pay the narrator for this. I could not focus on the story and now I have given up. I guess I’ll try to just read it instead.
Worst narration I have ever heard.

Historia
There’s a crush, and then, there are the type of feelings that Croft Cruisie evokes from a person. He’s everything that any straight woman would want: tall, handsome, charismatic, muscular, and sweet. At least, Carmichael thought he was sweet, until he brings another woman to the gym she owns with her brother, on the night that’s to be their first date, and lets her know in a quick and painful, nonverbal way that her feelings are not reciprocated. Fast forward six months, and she’s still trying to move on from the rejection.

Finally We Got Croft!
Revisado: 08-07-21
I have been waiting for years for Croft to get his story. The first 2 books in this series were the very first books I read by Lani and not only was I hooked, but she bulldozed her way to my number 1 favorite author. I have read every one of her books and most of them multiple times…yes…she is that good! Now, on to my review:
Story: 5 Stars
I have been so very excited for Croft’s story and she didn’t disappoint! I don’t want to give spoilers, so let me just say that Croft and Carmichael’s characters are the perfect compliment to each other. The yummy scenes are as yummy as usual for a Lani book and I liked that the suspense in the book wasn’t extreme. I love suspense in a book, but there are a few of Lani’s books where the suspense or the tragedy are extremely intense and those are the ones I have read 1 time. They are always great books, so I’m never disappointed, But as a serious reader you can get very involved then a book and extreme suspense is just not my jam. Quit Bein’ ugly had the perfect blend of suspense, humor, romance, and yummy scenes.
Performance: 2 Stars
Let me start off by saying it is extremely hard for me to push the two star button for a Lani Lynn Vale book. Maxine Mitchell was amazing as always. I absolutely loved her and her voice and her performance were perfect for Carmichaels character. She did a great job with the tone of her voice in all scenes for Carmichael and including the ones that she read as Croft’s voice. What I wish audible would do is allow us to write stars for performance separately for each narrator. Because, if we could do that I would give Maxine Mitchell five stars. However, Lance Greenfield was painful to listen to in the story. His tone, in my opinion, constantly came across as every single sentence was in preparation for those “Oh my God!” Moments. It was very distracting and very annoying. His voice did not match with cross character at all. I enjoyed the book more when it was just Maxine narrating. I love books with multiple narrator‘s, Lance Greenfield was just not a good fit for this book. So, the two stars for the performance are only for Lance Greenfield.
Overall: 5 Stars
I’m giving five stars overall for this audiobook. I don’t want my two star rating for the performance to affect the overall of this audiobook. The story was absolutely fantastic and Maxine was freaking perfect and Lance was the only part that I did not enjoy.
But please please please do not make the decision to skip over this book we’re not listen to it based off of my review of Lance. This book was awesome and I do not regret purchasing it and I would still listen to it over and over again as I have with many of Lani Lynn Vale‘s books.
If you are a fan of Lonnie, snatch this book up! You won’t regret it. If you have never read Lonnie before, I would highly recommend listening to her book Hissy Fit before you listen to this one. The only reason for that is because if you end up feeling the same way about Lance as I did, I don’t want you to judge the remainder of Lani Lynn Vale’s books because of this. Every book she has that is an audiobook I have listen to you and have loved every single one of her narrators, so this was a first for me. So, if you’re not sure if you want this book or not, let me make the decision for you and tell you that yes you do!

SUPER ANGSTY
Revisado: 03-28-21
If you don’t like a TON of angst in your books, this is not the book for you! I’m glad I finished the book because I really wanted them both to have a happy ending, but there was so much angst from page 1 all the way to the last page, it was just a very depressing book. Books with cheating in it are a hard no for me and the male character in this book is left with leaving you wondering the entire time if he’s going to end up finally cheating on her. I have no problem with the reformed man whore story, those are always fun when a good woman comes and whip them into shape, but this book was just a little bit too much for my taste. It was well written and the narrators were amazing, just the storyline was not my cup of tea. If you don’t mind a book with a ton of angst in it, then you’re gonna love this book.

Historia
Going from a professional baseball player to a SWAT officer should’ve been seamless. Should have been. But it wasn’t. All it took was one single calendar shoot for word to spread that Nathan Cox was not only no longer playing professional baseball, but he was also the man behind saving the life of Reggie Morton, the city of Kilgore’s princess. Reggie didn’t know that by agreeing to provide the expertise and the know-how for the Police Officer’s Ball that she would be required to actually attend the function.

Good Story, Hated the Male Narrator
Revisado: 02-08-21
First of all, I would like to address the male narrator, Tor Thom. I did not like the sound of his voice with this book. Have you ever watched the Saturday Night Live skit about Harry Carey? I felt like I was listening to that actor impersonating Harry Carey almost through the entire book. It was not an exact replica of the Harry Carey impersonator but it was way too close for me to be able to fully enjoy this book. It made book a little annoying. I am really hoping that this narrator does not get used again for any of Lani‘s books. Tor also came off as a little bit on the breathy side.
OK, now for a review on the story. This was a good story, I don’t feel like it was one of Lani Lynn vale‘s best. Once I realized where the story was going with the baby I almost stopped reading the book. I’m over baby drama and I feel like it has been done a lot. But, I stuck to it and I will admit that I absolutely enjoyed the direction that Lani went with this storyline and how it turned out, so I’m super glad that I stuck to it. Overall, this is a good story in another great book by LLV, not one of my favorites but then we all have different favorites. I would most definitely recommend this book to fans of LLV!
