in his typical fashion, Thomas soul uses overwhelming facts and logic to point out the absurdity of our ruling class. it's amazing that this book was originally written nearly 30 years ago, but it is as relevant today as it ever was. he has clearly touched upon something undeniable about the way Western society is being run. This will change your perspective of media and journalism forever.

Love the attention to detail as well as the authenticity. I enjoyed when the authors speculated in a respectful way. that was true to the best known history from the time, but made sure to clarify what was speculation and what seemed to have been historically verified.

this is one of the best books I've read in a long time. if it was a physical book I would never have put it down. hearing the book read in Robert's own voice. gives it an eerie quality , like you could really feel yourself there in each of his troubled memories. I love the way he patiently tells his life story before leading into a chapter explaining luxury beliefs. once you see what he has lived, it makes him that much more authoritative on the subject. ultimately, I felt this was a book that will stick with me for a long time and forever influence my views on the importance of family in society.

absolutely brilliant book. in hearkening the values of the previous generation, Coleman proves that he is one of the most important young intellectuals of THIS generation with his incredible academic honesty, clear.and easy to understand arguments and his refreshing optimism. it's all delivered in his trademark calm demeanor, which perfectly matches his pragmatic approach to the problem. I cannot recommend this highly enough to anyone concerned about racism in society today.

I'm an Asian and would highly recommend this book not only for other Asian Americans, but for anybody who believes that discrimination in the name of so-called diversity equity inclusion mandates is simply racism by another name. the book makes an excellent argument against racist policies that are increasingly endorsed by today's political left by pointing out the real harms that result.

very well written, narrator maintains his professionalism and the author refrains from using any sort of emotional or ideological arguments. very fact-based, I deal for a logical or rational-minded individual. The book is also fair- acknowledging at times the unfortunate reality of colonialism. this is one that's worth reading again to soak in all of the useful arguments

Douglas Murray is at it again. although the book takes on all things woke and even has an entire chapter dedicated to race, I would consider this work to be first and foremost to be a rebuke of postcolonial theory. for those people who aren't familiar with the term, coined by postmodernists such as homi baba, it refers to the notion that all things that are in some way connected to a history of European colonialism are tainted and fatally flawed by their inevitable European / white male biases. this overlaps heavily with critical race theory, and is often used as a justification to tear down our institutions.

in this work, Murray argues passionately for nuance and common Sense. he makes some of the best arguments to rebuke post-colonial theory that you will find. he continues to defend a passionately, the classical liberal values then have brought us all the living standard that we enjoy. I hope as many people as possible read this book.

never have I come across such a compelling case for pragmatism and liberal values in the practice of islam. calling on previously unknown aspects of history, akyol successfully illustrates the manner in which literalist and conservative practices of Islam have come to dominate the social-- and more importantly-- geopolitical landscape of islam. if you are a person who is hopeful about the future of Islam and it's potential to thrive under enlightenment values, you will henceforth be equipped with some very good arguments that Islam at its very core really is a tolerant, peaceful, and rational faith. ultimately, the consolidation of power in various Islamic regimes was responsible for the disarray that we see today. understanding "the why" is the beginning of what one can only hope will be a new era of enlightened Islam.

what a fantastic piece of American history! I wish this were part of high school curriculum. it is an incredibly well researched and brutally honest telling of events. at times the imagery is difficult to stomach but that's part of why it is so good-- gwynne does not hold back or sugar coat anything. I came away from it with a greater appreciation both for the plight of the plains Indians and the early frontier settlers.
