Historia
When wealthy and popular crusader and reformer Lester Pierce is gunned down in front of his Park Avenue residence, the public outcry forces the NYPD to restructure its homicide department. As the deceased was highly critical of Inspector Lionel Cramer, the longtime head of homicide is temporarily relieved of his badge. But it seems Cramer was not just a scapegoat. He was seen dining in Little Italy with mob kingpin Ralph Mars. If Cramer's provisional replacement, Captain George Rowcliff, becomes permanent, PI Nero Wolfe's future dealings with the force will be much compromised.

Overall Good, a Few Annoying Writing Habits
Revisado: 01-03-24
Overall I enjoyed this. There are two recurring author signatures that really bother me however. For some reason the author doesn't use conjunctions which can lead to dialogue feeling stilted, unnatural, and overly formal. And secondly there's a recurring theme that people are amazing by Archie's grasp of fairly mundane words. Any time he uses a slightly less common word, the recipient is over the top about how much vocabulary Archie has learned from Wolfe. Again, makes the dialogue seem unnatural. But overall it's an enjoyable series.

In this contemporary Romeo and Juliet story set within India's caste system, private investigator Vish Puri faces his most difficult challenge to date - a high-stakes mystery involving one of India's most controversial commodities: love. When Ram and Tulsi fall in love, the young woman's parents are dead set against the union. She's from a high-caste family, but her boyfriend is an untouchable from the lowest strata of Indian society. Young Tulsi's father locks her up and promises to hunt down and kill the "lover boydog."

This Series Is Incredible!!
Revisado: 02-03-23
This series is so so good, I don't think I can explain how much I love it. The mystery is interesting and fun, the characters are so compelling, and best of all the sense of place is unparalleled. I feel like I have learned so much about India from the series. The author talks about a lot of extremely important social issues, but despite the heavy topics, I don't find it depressing. The narration is also excellent. I hope this author never stops writing.

This series is getting even better
Revisado: 09-06-16
I enjoyed the first and second books in this series but felt they were a little too long, like the author was just filling pages at the end. This is the best book in the series so far. It kept me engaged the whole time and I really enjoyed the new characters who were introduced. Really a great listen!

Fantastic book

Such an amazing book. I'm sad I'm done with it. The narrator was good except for his attempt at women's voices. They were so bad I wish he had just used his regular voice.
