Historia
Colette “Coco” Weber has relocated to her Catalina Island home, where, twenty years before, she was the sole survivor of a deadly home invasion. All Coco wants is to see her aunt Gwen, get as far away from her ex as possible, and get back to her craft—writing obituaries. Thankfully, her college best friend, Maddy, owns the local paper and has a job sure to keep Coco busy, considering the number of elderly folks who are dying on the island. But as Coco learns more about these deaths, she quickly realizes that the circumstances surrounding them are remarkably similar....

Creepy Layered Mystery
Revisado: 02-16-25
From the very start you know that this is not going to be a straight forward mystery and there are layers to each character that aren't revealed to very near the end. Weaving in Covid lockdown on an island just increases the feelings of Dread.
Christine crafted amazing characters that you felt like you actually knew. Well Done!

Great Storytelling
Revisado: 12-02-24
Big fan of mysteries & this was a goody! The twist was unexpected and, in hindsight, made perfect sense. The narrators brought each character to life and I felt like I was a silent extra sibling navigating the complex relationships of this family. Highly recommend!

Historia
Thirty years after a tragic accident shut down production of the classic children’s program Mister Magic, the five surviving cast members have done their best to move on. But just as generations of cultishly devoted fans still cling to the lessons they learned from the show, the cast, known as the Circle of Friends, have spent their lives searching for the happiness they felt while they were on it. The friendship. The feeling of belonging. And the protection of Mister Magic.

Captivating Story!
Revisado: 05-20-24
Just....wow! Following the thread of this story was so enjoyable. The construction of the mystery just kept you listening well past when I should have gone to bed, and then crept into my dreams. Rebecca did an amazing job with her portrayal of all the characters & I felt like I knew each one. She gave me the "feels" & I love the movie she created in my head.
Was so glad I listened through & heard the author's note at the end. Will definitely be looking for more books by Kiersten White in the future!

What If Indeed!

So wanted to give 5 stars, but I wanted more! The characters were captivating and I would have LOVED a deeper dive on all, especially the back story of 'Mama'. This would make a great movie or series.
Nancy Bober gave a nuanced performance, floating above the horror with grace....like, well, a firefly! Her voices breathed life into the individual characters giving attitude and intelligence to each, providing an honesty to them.

Historia
Some people get Green Eggs and Ham as a bedtime story, I got tales of gods and Titans, nymphs, demigods, and Oracles. My Greek grandparents not only told me stories. They were so proud of their culture and heritage, making sure I was fluent in both reading and writing the language. I thought I knew who I was, my heritage, my culture, my destiny. All of that changed when a Titan named Dione walked through the door of my divination shop. For so many years, I’d thought I’d been scamming people by reading their fortunes. Turns out I’m the real deal.

Fun world to escape into.
Revisado: 03-04-24
What a way to weave myths & legends into a contemporary setting. Love the way Cassandra gives each unique persona an individual 'feel', drawing into the scenes as they unfold. Was truly rooting for our erstwhile oracle as she tried to figure out the secrets of her heritage.

Immersive story

Love how the story unfolds. Mara Wilson does an amazing job bringing Rose to life, with all of her quirks and self doubls. You can feel the hold the Church (cult) has on the community. The slow unraveling is a great listen!

Enjoyable Listen
Revisado: 12-26-23
Fun story! This is the first book in this series that I have listened to and Stacy gives you a real feel for the main character. Back story was given enough quick explanation that I had no problem understanding about the world in which it takes place.

Absolutely loved this story. Such an inventing treatment of the King Arthur legend. Petrea gave depths to legendary characters that made them more human. She did an amazing job narrating. The voices and accents were spot on.

Historia
Ten office workers in Boston started out sitting in a circle and sharing the problems they encountered on the job. In a few short years, they had built a nationwide movement that united people of diverse races, classes, and ages. They took on the corporate titans. They leafleted and filed lawsuits and started a woman-led union. They won millions of dollars in back pay and helped make sexual harassment and pregnancy discrimination illegal. The women office workers who rose up to win rights and respect on the job transformed workplaces throughout America.
