Fantastic book!!!

I laughed so hard I had tears. I was touched to tears with some of the emotional parts about her children. I called my daughter as soon as I finished and exclaimed that she had to get this book! It was so enjoyable I am sorry it is over.

Brilliant writing, great story!

Her characters are so real. Often times authors pain their characters very one dimensionally. This is not the case with this or any of Beth O’Leary’s books. Even the worst of her characters has a side that we can relate to, a softer side. This book is heartwarming, funny, with so many turns that you just don’t expect. I am sad that I finished. I loved this book!

The characters were real and interesting. The dialogue was witty. I am of Portuguese decent and really enjoyed the Portuguese culture that was woven into the story. You will enjoy this book!

I don’t know how Demi made it through some of the difficult times of her childhood, but she did. She overcame and persevered. She never gave herself credit for that. It is sad that as humans, and particularly as woman we so quickly see our flaws and minimize our accomplishments. This book will remain a constant reminder to think of how the great things i’ve done to get here. Thank you Demi. It also show how fragile relationships can be, whether it be spouse or children. That is sad, but true. I’m glad I read this, okay, I meant “listened” 😊

I️ enjoyed the characters. I️ enjoyed the story. This is now the 3rd book in the series. The son was taken an held hostage by terrorists in book 1. He is finally released and we don’t get to hear about the reunion with mom? With dad? Siblings? Yes, I️ get it. The author wants you to use your imagination. But if she won’t take you there, I️ don’t go. I️ feel a little ripped off. Anyway, I️ did enjoy all three books.
