This was an average litrpg story in the writing, with the many, many grammar errors. (our author should learn proper use of subjunctives aka "might" not "may;" use of phrases and clauses, in particular gerund phrases, in order to avoid the constant appearance of unclear references where the phrase or clause is talking about a different thing than the subject; be careful to avoid run ons and incompatible/confusing sentence structure. I'd give this a hurrah for different world and magical rules than any I've read before, though. A solid 4 stars with the exception of the grammar. please, by all that is holy, get an editor.

I liked this well enough, but the many, many wrong word choices kept annoying me. It was like the author threw a dart at a thesaurus, with wrong words used in a head scratching way. Otherwise, I enjoyed the story.

I like the series well enough, but the narrator constantly mispronounces words...and I'm not talking about dialectical differences. I have double checked these errors when I heard them throughout the series, and I'm not wrong. one example was repeatedly saying "bulkwark" instead of "bulwark" in an earlier book in the series. Most recently, it was mispronouncing "virulent." This is degrading my listening experience.

I'm loving the series, but the narrator makes a lot of distracting errors, which affects my enjoyment. mispronounciations and obvious read errors happen quite a lot.

Loved hearing this after reading it some yrs ago. but narration was annoying in that she kept using this weird set of nasally or scratchy voices. they were just awful and almost impossible to distinguish among them.

I liked the book. I think the writing is decent. I do find the basic premises that are employed often ignore issues that I would logically expect to come up. this causes me to frequently pause and think, "but what about X?" because there are big gaps. Also, the constant repetition of shock that she's female is pretty silly. If she's so infamous, I'd expect at least some people would know. I do like use of a single, genderless title for officers, but Sir is not that. I like addressing misogynistic attitudes, and I like the story overall, but it is for a niche audience and won't appeal to some.

the nature of radio means no narration, but this book simply fails without all of the narrative.

I really enjoy listening to this author's work, but the world building kinda stinks. Examples are a military campaign without eyes in the sky, no planes, helos, drones, and no real reason why not. Or the constant iteration that our protagonist is outhinking her fellow Tasmanians by using what seem to me to be reasonable tactics and pre-planning. I kind of feel insulted on behalf of elite units everywhere for the implication that these highly intelligent and highly trained mklitary units do not plan before rushing in in a Tasmanian tide. Berserkers are not capable of being a successful elite unit, imo. In general, the world, the unit equipment, details about daily life, dtc. are vague at best unless you are dealing with action sequences.

At any rate, if you like listening to military sf, this was great, and I'll listen to more of the series. I will not, however, read the author, because the style of writing, combined with the flaws, would guarantee me throwing the book in annoyance.

I had a hard time finishing this because the worldbuilding was terrible. The plot hinges on contradictory and illogical social norms, and many ghings are never clearly explained. The worst thing, however, is how dragons are treated. it drove ne crazy. Dragons are shown to be creatures as intelligent as humans, but are treated like dogs. They need to be led on leashes? Trained like a horse? It defies logic. Either they are dumb animals or people. If there is another rationale, such as they don't understand things the way we do, it ought to be shown. I've read many of the anderle books, but I truly regret spending it on this one.

I'm sorry, but the sexism was tough to plow through, but when our heroine molests an unconscious man, it turned my stomach. Gross and just wrong on all levels. I think the writing and narration were fine, but had to stop whdn the princess molests an unconscious man.
